Very impressed with the commitment last night and the confidence on the ball. Epitomised by Ogle but many others were not far behind. Taft and Boyce were dominant in the air and Foster was well protected. Wilson caused big defenders issues with his pace. They looked a totally different team. Fans support was brilliant throughout. Up the Iron.
Ken Jones was a class keeper, the first keeper I saw playing for the Iron. Ray Clemence and Joe Neenan were decent but Joe Murphy would get my vote.
Looks like a Swann fire sale to me.
I agree with many of the points raised. I’d love to get back to a situation where we were run by local people with the best interests of the club and community at heart. I can’t agree with the comments about Lee Turnbull. His scouting has brought us many class players and while we have seen few recently I suspect his hands have been tied.
Still no definition of supply side problems.
Is this the Skelly who went to Fred Gough?
Brexit has been an issue is somewhat understating the problem. I agree the Euro has fallen in value but the European Central Bank didn’t need to intervene to support European markets. I still await your definition of post pandemic supply chain issues. Maybe you should ask the prime minister or chancellor as they use this excuse at every opportunity.
A couple of questions after Bucksirons article. Please define post pandemic supply problems. This seems to be the present government’s get out of jail card when questioned. I suspect it means a shortage of critical workers from outside the UK but brexiteers won’t accept that. Also energy support has happened across Europe with no great issues on the financial markets. A disdain for climate change issues, however painful the present consequences may be, do not reflect well on the life chances of future generations.

Desperate for a central defender who is committed and able to pass the ball accurately for at least 10 yards.

I wasn’t at the game yesterday but saw us at Maidenhead. Omalley seems to be being criticised but at Maidenhead he was left 2 on 1 for the first two goals. Left side of midfield was absent. Playing out from the back with the present central defenders seems the triumph of hope over experience. Solidity in midfield and some belief and commitment seem the way forward but I fear the worst at present.
Good luck to the lad.
At least we have a few experienced players at the start of this season. We clearly have some talented young lads but last season showed that they need support. Hopefully this seasons recruitment will be better than last seasons debacle.
Pleased for the lad to move on. He has the potential to be a decent player. With the Iron though I had the feeling that he thought he was better than he was.
My first football hero. In my first match at the Old Show ground he seemed to win every ball in the air and dominated the opposition. I’ll never forget the determination he showed for the Iron.
