It was much improved that’s for sure.

Oldham were not a good side and didn’t threaten a lot but we have lost to worse sides this season already.

Could’ve had a couple more but we didn’t panic and a clean sheet is a big bonus.

A large step in the right direction let’s hope we stick to 442 and we can keep it going.

    Here we go!

442 with a proper keeper, 2 proper full backs, 2 proper wingers and 2 proper strikers.

When was the last time this happened?

No judgement for today. Was poor but reasonably no one could expect anything else.

Pointless game today and pointless game Tuesday. Neither game matters.

Get as many minutes as possible safely into the players that need them and start again from Saturday.

I’d argue that keeping the players and their families safe is doing the club a favour and is certainly not a waste of money.

But I’d expect nothing less from you you’ve made your opinions on what’s going on at the minute pretty obvious.

On the OWS the story about Mussy’s reaction there is a picture at the top. Between Stanton and Clarke on the bench is that Watson?

If so then he isn’t one of those isolating obviously.

Edit – never mind I’ve read it now Eisa and Watson injured not COVID related.

It’s a shambles. We’re getting up towards the worst levels from pre lockdown.

It can’t continue like this for much longer.

5 more and Russ out with covid.
That team we are putting out is really bare bones.
Watson, Cordner, Bedeau, Gillead & Eisa presumably the ones.
It’s going to be a rough afternoon.

Could be those but we only had 5 subs. Where were Olomola, Brown, Butroid & Dales?

Butroid and Dales didn’t figure last week so possibly the 2 who had an issue with COVID for that game. I read this as 5 more so 7 total?

Brown and Olomola still not fit enough?

    That would be my guess.

Can’t see there being any chance of away fans being in anywhere this season.

Swann just said Football League rules are you play if you have 13 fit players or a fine and points deduction. Hullberside also said the FL are having an investigation into whether the Cods broke the rules.

If those are the rules then Grimsby definitely broke them.

Yeah not sure what the rules are here really. Grimsby got 3 games called off because of one youth player.

We are without our 2 best players and 2 of 3 fit cbs. And we could argue our number one keeper. As well as the full management team.

Seems like grounds for a couple of weeks off to me.

Nobody is particularly in charge anyway.

Cox is isolating he’s not ill so presumably he’s in constant contact and still in control as much as he was previously.

We are going to need to shift 6 at least in Jan.

We are desperate for quality but this should have been done at the start so we could have signed half as many.

No way we can operate on a squad of 35

Call this and Tuesday another couple of write offs look to get minutes into Brown, Howard and maybe Olomola. Maybe a few for McGahey and Clarke on Tuesday.

Start again v Colchester with a back 5 of

    Howard
    Clarke
    McGahey
    Onarise
    Brown

Even if we don’t manage to add the midfielder we so desperately need that back 5 will make such a huge difference.

Add Kev back into that in a few weeks and we might be able to score some goals and not concede.

He made 2 reasonable saves one of which was only needed because he failed to hold the first simple effort.

    What a start.

We’ve not had the ball yet.

Looked soft again but again stupid, inexperience. Hornshaw puts his hands on his back when he’s going nowhere and gives him a chance to con the ref.

I only remember Baines as a shit referee.

We have not had a lot of luck with older free agents recently it’s true but it really can’t get any worse.

Yeah got top agree with ferrite. I’m not blaming the ref.

First pen is soft but stupid from Gillead gave the player the chance to go down.

2nd is a blatent pen caused by Hippolyte who was deservedly sent off for 2 stupid and absoloutly needless fouls.

Murph is at tranmere anyway was on the bench against us last week.

If he was available, 38 and 4 games in the last 2 years is still preferable over what weve got now.

We might as well play 5-4-2. Cox can have his 3 cbs and we get 2 up front. With 0 impact on our goalkeeping effectivness.

Good start. 2 more needed quickly at a minimum.

Keeper being the obvious desperate priority.

Howard is a good shout decent keeper,
Alnick is another good experienced keeper. Be delighted with either of those.

Not sure I know Paul Jones apart from the ex Southampton keeper who must be pushing 50.

Our GK is a joke, not fit for a pub side.

Again, this has been said on here since well before the start of this season.

Some people were defending him saying he would learn. No one is defending him now.

He isn’t learning he’s going backwards, he is obviously not good enough.

Hopefully the chairman will see he’s made a mistake and will rectify it quickly.

Tom Newey put it perfectly today.

There are people out there who can’t be bothered to do their jobs and no one is calling them out on it.

No one on the pitch with a voice who will say what needs to be said.

Clearly if Cox and Lillis are saying it after the game no one is listening.

Get a keeper, get some full backs and get a leader or we’re dead.

Colclough has gone pay McAtee up as well since he is obviously too good for us.

If we’d stuck a bag of potatoes on the centre of the goal line instead of Watson it would’ve saved both the penalties.

So we would’ve been one goal worse off with an inanimate object instead of a professional footballer.

Watson -2- not good enough and never will be. It’s obvious and has been for a long time.

Onarise -7- looks like a competent defender. Give it 2 weeks before he’s infected.

Bedeau -2- shit but one of the few who looks like he’s bothered.

Cordner -2- never managed to get a clearance out of the box.

Gillead -5- another who cares and tries. Won’t care for much longer and will be on his way in Jan. Can’t see why he would stay here and ruin his career.

Hippolyte -0- said enough about him in the match day thread

Spence -5- effort again but on his own in a midfield 3

Taylor -3- not in it. Can’t imagine he’ll stick around king either. Will be “injured” and back at Forrest before Christmas

McAtee -0- again see the match day thread

    Loft -2- ineffective and uninterested

Jarvis -5- effort. Brilliant touch to create a chance at 0-0 but poor finish

As I said in the match day thread I gave up after 70 mins so scores are based on what I saw

I’m always disappointed when we lose.

Today I’m genuinely angry about it. We’ve been shit for 3 years and there have been players/games where we look like we don’t care.

Now it obvious and inarguable, the majority don’t give a shit.
