Like most others agree we were schooled first half by a very good team, if you don’t get near the opposition and press them you will get punished. Three good saves from Rory kept us in it but second half we closed them down sooner and they suddenly looked less comfortable. Deserved a point even though Cal got lucky with the pen rebound and a draw was about right overall. We are learning every game and are still unbeaten in the league, cracking match though full of good football, endeavour and both teams looked thoroughly knackered at the end with the efforts they had put in, I really enjoyed the game.

Agree almost word for word. B.Wood an impressive outfit for this level, could have easily been out of sight first half- number 10 especially oozes quality.

Got to give credit to Butler though, changed the shape to improve the press and it seemed to pay dividends as their defence began to tire. Last 20minutes were thoroughly enjoyable to watch with 2 decent sides exchanging blows- more then happy with a point.

Evans exceptional again- MOTM. Mention to Watson too whom I thought had bother solid game.

The mess off the field this summer was probably enough to at the very least sow seeds of doubt that Matt wasn’t cut for the job.

Concur that moody deserves a bite of the cherry if he so wishes.

There’s criticism when some believe some have been targeting the goalies unnecessarily even though they’ve committed howlers and saying how it is, now Beck he his targeted fair enough imo, Carlton got it last week basically everyone gets told there shite at times, what’s it matter whether we’re winning or not.
Shite play is shite play and obviously that fan thought it and duly expressed it, no more different when you see fans clap players at the end of the game when we’ve played absolute dog shite , Gateshead away comes to mind, when asked why they’re were doing it they don’t really know.
Let’s not sanitize football anymore than it is already, either that or go challenge and let fighting commence.

And that works both ways, no crying when it’s given back by the manager

Sounds like Ewing was precautionary, not sure why Whitehall was brought on/off or what’s happened with Boyce.

Routine win against a very poor side, thought Dawson looks a player and provides us with some real competition up top now, Beestin and evans excellent.

Big tests coming up now against sides in/around us but couldn’t have really asked for a better start. Superb stuff all round.

I would give Carlton the nod over TSF, however it does feel like he needs to make an impact or else he will one the few shipped out on loan.

There’s still too much focus on the keepers

Disagree. Neither are currently good enough. Watson is showing why he’s only played 4 first team games in 3 years and Campbell is a project. I’d rather we had a capable goalkeeper and I’d rather he learnt his trade out on loan.

Our first 10 is as good as anything in this league, we really should be fielding a GK which compliments the other 10 players.

You, along with a few others had your mind made up before a ball was kicked.

You may turn out to be correct, but it’s a sad state of affairs when people start gunning for players in an attempt to be proven right.

Even saw some comments laying blame at the door of Rory for the Wealdstone goal when he had nothing to do with it.

Wasn’t the howler I was expecting; Was right on the tip of his fingers but a ball you’d still expect him to claim. Hopefully it doesn’t wreck his confidence as he’s looked the part since stepping in.

Had it on the radio and F.Green commentators thought the game was done- absolute sucker punch and certainly feels like a loss.

Unfortunately we do look weaker with the subs atm, Carlton had a good spell towards the end of the season but him & Beck just seem to leave us in a weaker position. Gutted for Rory aswell, sounded like he had a good game overall.

There’s a case to be made we should have won every game thus far which was unimaginable pre season- things to work on but the foundations look solid.

Start of a tough run of fixtures which by the end should give us a clearer picture on where this squad is.

On evidence shown thus far nothing suggests we will go being content to settle for a point. May be a bridge too far though.

In fairness there was a handball leading up to Alfie Beestin’s goal, However they are deluded trying to claim for a penalty and red card for the injury incident.

Need a swift conclusion from the league to put an end to the debacle, we are current on the same amount of games played as Morecambe!

Never seen the like before, hopefully the league slap a nice fine and points deduction in for good measure.

Another really solid performance today. Tactics spot on again and on another day we’d have had 3/4 first half. Whatever we have left in the budget I’d be using to tie Ewing up on a long term deal- superb player for the level.

Continue to be impressed by what I’m seeing and it’s reassuring to see players stepping from the fringes and putting in competent performances. Tougher tests to come but you can’t ask for much more than they’ve delivered

‘We won didn’t we’ Detail and comprehension of the game lol.

‘I dont want you to come to games if you’re going to criticize players performance’

Contract extension now is it? I thought everyone bought into the narrative that he hadn’t signed a contract so there was no extension. Well at least that’s what Michelle told us.

You’ve took that criticism to heart AWG, never had you down as a snowflake.

Agree Deerey with regards to Butler, continues to impress in many areas and clearly knows how to get a team playing for him.

Wouldn’t be surprised to see a few teams sniffing around if we are in/around the play offs in a couple of months.

If common sense prevailed you’d imagine both teams would settle on a point, however with it being abandoned I’m
Not sure if the protocol is a replay.

Looks like both players are up and talking, fingers crossed it’s nothing more serious than a sore head for a few days.

Fans aren’t asking for an hatfull, but one is beyond shite.

Shame for the lad as he’s clearly struggling, have to look at offloading asap as our whole style/tempo alters when he’s on the pitch .

He looked a handy player when he came with Solihull the year before too

Really enjoyed the interview. Might rub some fans up the wrong way but there’s plenty been fired in the other direction.

He’ll back his players to the end, I admire that and it seems to get rewarded through them busting a gut for him as we saw today.

Credit to him today- a lot more confidence claiming the ball in his area.

Really pleasing to see the reaction he got in front of the main stand at full time too

The outcome of last season answers your first question.

Give Will Evans’ interview on Humberside a listen; he puts his point across more eloquently than I could.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion but id wager the vast majority of those slamming Campbell were the same ones foaming at the mouth about Butler last year and wanting him gone before Xmas. They are probably the same ones who had the pitch forks ready after the app frod pre season game calling butler every name under the sun.

    Patience required, for now.

Butler will stick his head in the sand as the daft pillock publicly declared Maison was his number one without even seeing him as first choice in pre season.

I suspect he’ll give him too many chances because if he brings another keeper in, he’s admitting he was wrong. We saw this play out last season with the 5 at the back, he was stubborn for too long then too.

I hope I’m wrong and Maison comes good, but I can’t see it, and pretty sure no many other fans can either. Only terrifying thing is that we have Watson to take the reigns. I wouldn’t call him a safe pair of hands by any means.

Not convinced by the keeper by any means , however Butler has more than enough credit in the bank in my eyes for us to show a little faith.

Fantastic result and start to the season; Butler has built a side that continues to find ways to win.

Hope it can encourage a few more down on Monday for a bumper attendance.

Thought we were value for money today- Woking looked a decent outfit in the middle of the park but lacked quality where it matters in both boxes; Butler got it spot on not pressing too high and allowing them to play through us.

Defence looked excellent, Boycey my MOTM for a second week running but you couldn’t really fault any of them. Horton impressed today and would be aggrieved to lose his place next game.

The lads look fit and well drilled, didn’t panic when Woking had their spells of possession and broke fast when given an opportunity; Howe right place, right time twice in quick succession was no coincidence.

Only negative really was the keeper error, a clean sheet at home would’ve done his confidence the world of good and the little he had to do in the game he did well. The jury is still out.

Overall more than happy with the opening 2 games though. Well done lads

when it comes to bother at footy games im guessing a few on here recall Nuneaton and Shrewsbury away , the Shay Halifax eve KO and Millwall at home.. the stuff on IHYTV was just handbags chip butties and smeared lipstick..nowt else.

Lincoln at home in the 03 play offs was a good old tear up. Few lads took a belting on the pitch from the old bill that night.

DAZN have a history of unscrupulous behaviour with customers. They first entered the boxing world 7/8 years ago and provided and a poor service back then with lag/buffering issues and tying customers into longer contracts than expected.

One of the many reasons why everyone now has a dodgy box.

Echo the comments above; thought we showed early on we could spray the ball about abit and played some neat stuff, inevitably it was always going to descend into a slugfest with their tactics and awful pitch.

We looked fit, sharp and desperate for the 3 points; I was happy with what I saw today. Individually impressed with Howe Ewing and starbuck, however my MOTM would go to Boycey.

For a league debut I thought Campbell did what was required- great save at the end to boost his confidence. Coming out for crosses and showing assertiveness in the box will come with time- he’s a big lad and needs to assert that physicality. Great reception for him at the end and I hope he enjoyed the moment.
