The opening “joking” post was exactly that. The worry is the woke brigade take it seriously. Sad.

Like you say MK ,the lack of a defensive midfielder is a problem ( is Rowley that man?)
What I’ve seen of the new players my view is,Ewing looks good,Howe looks good,Chadwick looks promising,Dawson still doesn’t look match fit to me ,Eze looks ok but still not convinced (at the moment),Belehouan is a wait and see player, but it’s early days and my feelings are on the optimistic side. Think Watson will be ok.
Tomorrow’s game will be very interesting .

Think we’ve got some exciting players in the squad .My only concern is have we got a “Neil Bishop” type to galvanise the team on a wet windy night in Halifax?

I was Mick. I’m sure many at WintertonIron understood. Besides being a specialist in pigs he also had his own plane.

Thanks for the “scrapbook “ post ,Deeryme. I was at the Preston F A Cup game in 1975 (6?) We should have been 3 or 4 up before a terrible penalty decision against us. Alan O Mera made a howler for their winning goal I recall. My other memory was after the match,Preston hooligans tried to get on our coach, the “hard lads” at the back of the bus shouted ,”Let’em on”!, the coach driver shouted,” What do you mean let ‘em on,this is a new coach!” The report of the match is in your scrapbook post.

It’s a shame Maisonette Campbell has been put in this situation (no.1 keeper)The management team are to blame and should reassess their stance.

Rebellion against God takes many forms. We are all sinners and will have to answer to Him on judgement day.

To put it into perspective ,on August 31st 1968 Sheffield Wed beat Man Utd 5-4 at Hillsborough ( Best ,Law and Charlton who had just won the European Cup a few months earlier). I was there,it is the greatest non- Scunthorpe game I have ever seen live. When the Wednesday crowd were shouting “we want six”,it will live in my memory forever.Roll on just 17 months January 24th 1970 ,and little Scunthorpe United mid table in league 4 went and won 2-1 and if Terry Heath had taken the two chances when clean through at the end,it would have been more emphatic! Unbelievable Jeff.

Siderite-“bpg has alaways stated a dislike of the COE and Catholic(Roman) Church.”
The reason I disagree with their position is because they don’t preach the true Gospel.
Charles Spurgeon in his book “All of Grace” wrote the true Gospel message :
“ Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners:forgiveness is for the guilty.
Do not attempt to touch yourself up and make yourself something other than you really are;but come as you are to Him who justifies the UNGODLY.
A great artist some short time ago had painted a part of the corporation of the city in which he lived, and he wanted, for historic purposes,to include in his picture certain characters well known in the town.A crossing-sweeper,unkempt ,ragged, filthy, was known to everybody, and there was a suitable place for him in the picture. The artist said to ragged and rugged individual,” I will pay you well if you will come down to my studio and let me take your likeness.” He came round in the morning, but he was soon sent about his business;for he had washed his face, and combed his hair, and donned a respectable suit of clothes. He was needed as a beggar, and was not invited in any other capacity.Even so,the Gospel will receive you into it’s halls if you come as a sinner, not otherwise.Wait not for reformation, but come at once for SALVATION. God justifies the UNGODLY,and that takes YOUup where you now are:it meets you in your worst estate.
Come in your disabilities.I mean, come to your Heavenly Father in all your sin and sinfulness.Come to Jesus just as you are, leprous, filthy, naked, neither fit to live nor fit to die.Come, you that are the sweepings of creation;come, though you hardly dare to hope for anything but death.Come, though despair is brooding over you, pressing upon your bosom like a horrible nightmare.Come and ask the Lordto justify another UNGODLY ONE.Why should HE not?Come for this great MERCY of God is meant for such as you are.”
Romans 6:32 “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
This is the Gospel message ,turn to Christ alone and put your Faith in Christ Alone.
In your quiet moments reach out to God,he is rich in mercy.
