I can’t imagine Hippolyte was a particularly big earner when you look at where he came from, when he was signed and then compare him to the players who have come in.

Both still not 100% match fit. I would say they’re an improvement. Hippolyte has been woeful apart from the upturn in form when Hill first arrived.
What did he do apart from that rather short spell when he was playing well?

He was our best outfield player this season and while he wasn’t flawless (missed penalty v. Newport springs to mind) he was head & shoulders above the rest of this team mates in those positions and had been playing well since before Hill arrived (Crawley at home, for example) since being moved into the middle of midfield.
Feeney might be a better player in the long run, maybe Sinclair will, but getting rid of one player who was playing well and replacing him with a couple of players who have yet to contribute anything seems a strange decision when you need points urgently.

But who signed him? We have no idea what lunatic deals were struck, but have only to look at giving sicknote Hallam a TWO YEAR deal to have some inkling.

Not as far as Swanny is concerned if it saves £££
