Something doesn’t add up here to me, he had an illness that kept him out of the squad for the Southend game, then played the last 30 mins of the Eastleigh game and then was left out of the squad again last night on the grounds that he’s still recovering from the same illness.
If true it sounds something more serious than a dicky tummy or summer time cold.
I did hear a rumour from an outsider on the inside that there were some personal issues at play and Butler is using the line of an illness to protect him for personal reasons, which is understandable without knowing the full facts.
Possibly an unpopular take at present, but on his day he can be an absolute handful and I think 95% of teams on this division would jump at chance of signing him.
My lad did make an interesting comment last night, which was the Roberts made him look good.
Is he the same player without this level of service from out wide?
i’d agree illness is a cover for something else. If not, it’s an odd illness indeed. Worry for him, he was not missed last night, the 2 lads did well for first go as stating pair
