No matter how many centre backs you start with Mick.

Campbell did make one very good save to be fair.

What’s going on with these trialists ?. Last two games they’ve haven’t even got on the pitch. Begs the question, if you’re not going to sign then and they aren’t getting on the pitch during the business end of pre season, why are they still even here ?

I refer you to MK’s post on the “Vapid pre-season” thread.

Rose has done virtually a full pre-season with Posh before leaving them for another club.

Squad is complete with the exception of the Simmonds fella. Played in most games but still not signed unless I am mistaken. Last but not lease Oli Rose is a fantastic addition. 23 now in the squad, some tasty additions, steady retained players and a dressing room buzz that is the best in years. Expect the unexpected but winning (or losing) the first game doesn’t define the season.

I think we’ll be ok .Got rid of a few with reps bigger than ability which is a good thing.
    Ok but not brilliant.

‘winning (or losing) the first game doesn’t define the season.’

My local Counties side lost their first home match 4-2 last Saturday due to some slack defending, particularly the new centre back who was tree like. Opposition centre forward was vertically challenged with a low centre of gravity and skinned him twice in the second half. I’d been chatting to his dad before half time saying goodbye as I headed for the obligatory steak pasty. He said he usually plays on the wing but the first choice striker was injured. Managed to whip past his dad on the way out to avoid his smug mush. Anyway, Tuesday night resulted in an unexpected away win, so yes, case in point Brian. The tree has vanished from the squad it seems. Probably for the best.

Expect the unexpected but winning (or losing) the first game doesn’t define the season.

In the last 2 seasons Tamworth and Brackley are confirmation of that.
