What we have all been waiting for…. The transfer announcements are sponsored by the Potions Cauldron.
June 16, 2026 at 10:42 pm #321995Good to see a recent pre-pack administration has allowed them to shaft creditors by 90p in the pound in favour of the Iron…

June 16, 2026 at 11:07 pm #321997So, the previous version went into administration owing £3m to creditors whereas the phoenix potion merchant is able to sponsor us? I am sure all this was considered as part of our due diligence procedures.

June 16, 2026 at 11:25 pm #321998Yes, the title of the story is misleading in that only a fraction of the debt was owed to HMRC, but the closeness of the ‘new’ owners (founder’s father and previous managing director) to the original company seems suspicious at best.
I suppose it is technically “trading under different ownership”, though I don’t think I’d be especially happy with this turn of events if I’d been a creditor of the initial company.
June 17, 2026 at 4:29 am #321999Doubt Glyn n Co will care one jott so long as the funds are cleared in the club bank and new signings can now start to be announced …

June 17, 2026 at 2:24 pm #322022And a convicted one at that, served his time though, and we all deserve that second chance.
June 17, 2026 at 7:17 pm #322042Lol. It’s the way you tell ’em.

“Grubby pounds”?
AKA Filthy Lucre? Are we selling out to The Man?
Hardly The Great Rock &!Roll Swindle is it?
June 17, 2026 at 11:34 pm #322053And a convicted one at that, served his time though, and we all deserve that second chance.
Second chance? Mr 4 names…..
Operating as a Director, using different names, when he was banned from being a Director for 6 years?
That’s really taking your second chance isn’t it!!
June 18, 2026 at 7:01 am #322057Come on we all enjoy Awaywego talking rubbish then being put back in his box over Dodgy Dave don’t we? Once again Awaywego you lose, absolutely marvellous.
June 18, 2026 at 8:56 am #322060Better put Michelle in there with me then Ironawe.
On the taking over from Hilton she says, “I would like to thank everyone who assisted in the transaction, especially David Hilton”.
“David has taken no fee for the club and wiped all monies he personally invested to enable the deal to happen”
He’s so dodgy he’s gone on to take ownership of Matlock approved by the FA and the national league which includes proof of funding. Besides obviously passing all the same when taking over Scunthorpe.
Awaywego we go wins with the facts again absolutely marvellous, against your perception of what you’d like to think was the case.June 18, 2026 at 9:32 am #322061Can’t blame yer for trying Awaywego, just keep banging your head against that brick wall you never know it might improve your brain power, lol.
June 18, 2026 at 10:32 am #322065No trying needed just stating the facts, I wait in anticipation for your facts other than Hilton was convicted of fraud.
June 18, 2026 at 8:30 pm #322078If I were “Transfer News Sponsor”, I’d be quite miffed at the lack of a mention either here or on the pages announcing Barrows’/Jones’s contract extensions…
What exactly are they getting for the money? (or have they failed to make the requisite payment, as evidently happened in their previous incarnation in respect of a number of creditors??)

June 18, 2026 at 9:02 pm #322081Good spot. I am sure there will be a prompt and clear explanation. Tuesday’s club statement:
“Supporters can expect to see The Potions Cauldron’s branding featured across the club’s transfer announcements, squad updates and exclusive digital content during both the summer and winter transfer windows.”
Either it’s an omission or the sponsorship deal has fallen through.
June 18, 2026 at 9:11 pm #322084They are mentioned in the Facebook posts for both signing announcements so far: “TRANSFER NEWS IS SPONSORED BY THE POTIONS CAULDRON”. None of their branding shown or mentions in the OWS articles though.
June 18, 2026 at 9:18 pm #322085Nothing on X, so sounds like an oversight.
June 18, 2026 at 9:26 pm #322087I would’ve thought the statement made by Michelle at that time was very much a needs must statement. Pretty certain she had to be very careful with her wording.
June 18, 2026 at 9:27 pm #322088Lack of sponsorship acknowledgement / crediting oversight is a common phenomenon
June 18, 2026 at 9:43 pm #322092I hadn’t been much attention until now.
