If the claims made by the right wing nut jobs including Rees Mogg and Dorries are to be believed, then Ms Grey must have known Starmer would offer her a job BEFORE she led the partygate enquiry.

Did she also travel back in time to help organise the parties?

It’s pathetic. I agree it’s bad optics, and there are arguments here about comprising the neutrality of the civil service. However, the desperate attempts to just rubbish partygate is just agenda, not good faith criticism. It was the police who found Johnson broke the rules; Johnson thought Sue Grey’s report absolved him.

Maybe the biggest laugh I have all day…

Jacob Rees-Mogg, the former business secretary, told GB News on Thursday the job offer “shows that there was a socialist cabal of Boris-haters who were delighted to remove him”.

I’m assuming those further to the left (in general) are critical of Starmer’s decision? Can they get a new T shirt or poster out of it?

“there are arguments here about comprising the neutrality of the civil service”.

Civil servants are allowed to accept job offers outside the service, so neutrality is no longer an issue.

Let’s be honest, the right wing and ERG in particular have been struggling for some time now, they are rapidly becoming a laughing stock and losing whatever credibility, if any, the ever had. Hard to believe they were taken seriously enough by a lot of people to believe their leave campaign crap and now more crap like this, beyond belief but they keep coming out with this stuff

Laughable, what is the ERG if it’s not a cabal.
Sunak should withdraw the whip, after all that’s what Boris did to eliminate opposition.

If it’s not a cabal, at the very least it’s a nefarious bunch of egomaniacal narcissists!
