Question 1: How many TV channels did you have growing up?
Question 2: How old were you when you/your family got your first colour TV?

Interested, after my eldest started questioning me about TV, football, black and white TV, after trying to watch b&w footage of Lev Yashin.

From 0 to 18 three channels , got colour at 15. Remember seeing Lev Yashin in goal for Russia during the 1966 World Cup , black and white obviously but what a keeper he was.

We got our first telly when I was four. I distinctly remember the guy putting the aerial up telling me to run into the house to see if there was a picture coming through. I ran into the living room to hear the dulcet tones of the William Tell Overture as an image of the Lone Ranger crackled into view. B&W of course.

Only two channels, BBC and ITV.

My parents always rented from a shop on the High Street (Radio Rentals?). As my dad was Steward of the Labour Club and they had one of the first colour sets in Scunthorpe I’d sneak into the lounge to watch stuff like the Cup Final. First I remember seeing in colour was Man City v Leicester in 1969. I would have been 16.

Never had a colour set again until my mid 30s. In fact we bought a VCR before a colour telly!
