Served as a Director in Wharton’s time. Although I doubt he will bring significant additional investment, his experience in a corporate setting should bring an additional and different skill set to the Board. Hopefully, that includes longer term and strategic planning, which we desperately need.

Lee is regularly sponsoring games with his daughter so he clearly has a few bob, but I agree that it is unlikely to be the game changing investment we need.

He is certainly not going to be ploughing in the mega millions that clown Ian Sharp thought the now defunct FC100,000 would bring into the club, so I presume they are still searching for further investment in the back ground.

On the face of it i think this is a Good appointment. He has had a long career at Barclays and clearly has a lot of experience that will undoubtedly help the board.

Any relation to Collinson, Scunthorpe builder in the 50’s and 60’s?

I sincerely hope we aren’t going back to the Wharton model, where directors put in £10k, then get free games and hospitality, before taking back their £10k, and walking away.
While we pay upfront, and never expect a penny back.

The Wharton model put us in the Championship and kept us in the football league, not sure it would now but it’s all about what works in what era I guess.

As long as there’s no Malpractice involved, it should be fine.

Likely won’t be able to provide the investment we require immediately, but perhaps could lead us to a person/group willing to do so in the future.

Looks a solid appointment all round

Putting money into a football club should never be classed as an investment. People rightly expect a return on an investment, maybe links to sponsorship opportunities is more likely.
