26 yr old RB out of contract at the Cods.
June 9, 2021 at 8:15 pm #208297Hearing he’s a solid right back for league 2 and a few cods disappointed to see him go which is always a good sign.
IF he does sign… a potential back four of hendrie, Taft, Onarisie, O’Malley is cause for a glimmer of optimism- surely?

June 9, 2021 at 9:58 pm #208317Hendrie carried a bit of a knock last season and wasn’t as effective as previous seasons according to some of the webbed fingers on the Fishy, that sounds ominous. Maybe the fee we get for McAtee will be a wage sweetener for the Henrie deal. No more injury prone signings please Mr Prawn face.

June 10, 2021 at 12:05 pm #208352unlikely to happen but not ruled out completely.
June 10, 2021 at 1:36 pm #208354Scunthorpe Telegraph reporting that we can’t afford his wages. Less than ideal!
If this is unlikely to happen it is because Scunthorpe United cannot afford his wages. Simple as.
The player wants to be in League Two, and Scunthorpe makes geographical sense.
Scunthorpe United's wage budget will be significantly lower this season. Do not expect big names. https://t.co/MyRxPJ4XNx

June 10, 2021 at 2:02 pm #208355It sounds like we are going to have the lowest budget in the division, so with no match day programme either it looks like the Covid hit us hard, pity it didn’t hit other clubs as well.

Not sure it is that simple. Cods want to keep him, if their offer is similar to ours he might be settled in Grimsby. If another L2 club comes in with an offer significantly better than ours (and probably more than he’s worth) then why wouldn’t he take that? As a NL player with questions over his injury record his expectations shouldn’t be that high. Not somebody I’d be desperate to sign, que sera sera.

What’s the programme got to do with the budget? To be honest, programmes have been pretty obsolete for nearly 20 years now, I’m surprised they haven’t gone already.
June 10, 2021 at 4:33 pm #208369We spend years wasting countless thousands paying for the likes of Marghetts, Vose, Horsfield, Dales, Olomola et al to sit on the sidelines and now cannot afford a National league right backs wages.

June 10, 2021 at 8:28 pm #208385If our budget is going to be as low as eluded too by people posting here, then I hope to goodness that we don’t blow it on a player who just got relegated. I’m also not keen on cod head rejects, and with his penchant for a sick note… I mean, what else is there to love? 💩
June 10, 2021 at 8:31 pm #208386Good old LK.
Even his emojis are racist!
June 11, 2021 at 9:31 am #208409Olomola came here on BIG wages, I understand.
Still. We got VFM. So all is well.June 11, 2021 at 10:45 am #208417Jarvis has already passed Olomola’s goal tally, unlikely that KDT will do the same. Price per goal for OO must be massive, price per minute on the pitch (for us) will be pretty frightening too. Anybody with the knowledge, and statto tendencies, to work it out?

It isn’t what has been spent it is what CBRP says. It is what it has been spent on. I would like to add Mr Hippolyte to the list of money down the drain. There were better home developed players sat doing nothing that would if given that opportunity put his inconsistent and lacklustre to shame – the difference is who wanted him ! And they are involved in possible signings !
June 11, 2021 at 3:20 pm #208426Whilst it would be a good signing, Wilson is about as negative as it gets regarding SUFC matters. As detailed above there could be a number of clubs offering silly wages, the exact thing we used to do!
