Played a couple of games for us on a non-contract basis during 1982-83 under John Duncan. A Goole lad, he was one of the Ashton Gate Eight who cancelled their contracts in 1982 to save Bristol City from bankruptcy. You can’t imagine many players acting so selflessly today.
