Wow early ironic quote of the year contender, Awaywego accusing someone else of having a chip on their shoulder, ha ha excellent.
January 1, 2026 at 2:16 pm #314877I often speak to the elected, independent reps who are outside the ground (and unsheltered) every home game. But I may make my point politely and directly on Saturday-time permitting.
I wonder on what basis you consider me to have a chip on my shoulder. I haven’t got personal with you, so what’s your beef with me, champ? Happy you new year to all, btw.
Just in case you’ve missed it Saleiron the voice of the fans are going to be in one of the huts on Saturday for people to engage with wink, wink, nudge, nudge, your chairman is encouraging fan engagement don’t go against her wishes.
You’ve obviously got a chip on your shoulder relieve yourself self of it you never know you might feel better for it.January 1, 2026 at 3:36 pm #314880From your posts you seem to resent that the club have not actioned on your thought on the subject.
From the club cosying up the vlogger, the club more or less taking the side of club elected voice of fans ie, Ryan. And the club not commenting on the matter or having words with said drummer.
That’s where I think your chip is Saleiron.
I myself have many beefs with the club and normally take action on them in various ways, you could well do the same on anything you feel strongly about and this is certainly something you appear to feel strongly about.
Anyway happy new year to you as well.January 1, 2026 at 9:00 pm #314885Collins defines having a chip on one’s soldier as “a feeling of anger and resentment because you think that you have been treated unfairly in the past.” Now, I posted about the specific issue of the fans’ rep yesterday. In what way have I demonstrated anger and resentment in that time frame? I wouldn’t expect anyone to have done anything in response even if I had raised it directly with the club or VoF. (Today is a Public Holiday for starters). Also, given I seldom post here, I can’t fathom how you would form a view of my motives or personality beyond those shaped by your own values or prejudices?

Especially if they’re sheltering in the Dougie Joyce HutsJanuary 2, 2026 at 12:37 am #314894For what it’s worth saleiron I’ve been out with supporters of various league and non-league clubs the last two days and when I relayed this topic, all said your initial observation and second observation was concerning and worthy of discussion. These are fans of the Iron, Leeds, Man U, Burnley, Alfreton, Altrincham and Liverpool. Just saying. And fair play to you raising it.

January 2, 2026 at 12:38 am #314895I put the question to Chatgpt as to whether any clubs had banned the chant. It said:
There have been specific responses by football clubs in the UK to stop or discourage chants about Tommy Robinson, though most are requests and disciplinary actions rather than formal stadium-wide bans on the chant itself. Here’s what’s been reported:
⚽️ Club-level responses
🔹 Ashton United FC (Non-League)
The club issued a strong statement condemning pro-Tommy Robinson chants heard during a match, saying such behaviour “has no place in football or society” and vowed to ban anyone identified as taking part. This reflects a formal disciplinary approach to stop the chants and exclude those responsible.🔹 Luton Town FC (2018)
While not a formal ban, Luton Town’s CEO publicly asked fans to stop singing Tommy Robinson’s name, describing the chants as “hugely disappointing” and urging supporters to leave politics out of matches. This was a clear club-level plea to discourage that chant among their fanbase.🧾 Broader context
• Clubs can and do discipline fans under FA rules if chanting crosses the line into discriminatory or abusive behaviour. The FA emphasises that discriminatory chanting by supporters is a breach of rules, and clubs can be held responsible if they fail to act — which often leads clubs to ban individual supporters rather than ban specific chants by name.• Formal bans on certain chants (like Tommy Robinson) typically aren’t written into stadium regulations specifically by club name — unlike historical cases where particular songs (e.g., “Billy Boys”) were officially prohibited because of sectarian content.
📌 Summary
Club Action Taken Type of Policy
Ashton United FC Condemned chants and warned that participants will be banned. Disciplinary, supporter bansLuton Town FC Publicly urged fans to stop the chants Official request from club management
General FA rules Clubs responsible for preventing discriminatory/abusive chanting Regulatory framework, not chant-specific
So while no top professional club has formally banned “Tommy Robinson chants” in a rulebook phrased that way, clubs have condemned such chants and taken action (including bans on individual supporters) to discourage and penalise them.
And that’s it. The problem is that the racists won’t care about bans and punishments. They don’t have feelings because they’re sub-human!

January 2, 2026 at 3:00 am #314899What the fudge is Gurnelista spouting above? Where and when have any of our fans sang Tommy Robinson’s name in the stands?
January 2, 2026 at 9:19 am #314902The Keir Starmer chant is pretty widespread now; Sky have had to go silent when it’s sung at the darts.
Must admit it was disheartening hearing it at a Scunny game, along with the pro- farage chants. The Tommy Robinson chant was sung by 20-30 young lads behind us, there was an angry response from half a dozen or so Scunny fans and it quickly stopped. I asked a young lad behind us why he was singing it and he didn’t have a clue, seemed embarrassed when confronted about it.
sad state of affairs and hopefully that shite can be self policed.

January 2, 2026 at 1:20 pm #314916I believe the covers were on last night and removed this morning to prepare the pitch. Pitch inspection due this pm as conditions likely to be similar in 24 hours. Sensible approach imo.

January 2, 2026 at 7:12 pm #314933We don’t have to be an “Einstein” to understand your political position .
I openly declare I am a “born again” Christian ,therefore receive hostility from non- believers ( not neutrality). You have an agenda which is Marxist in its worldview. Correct me if I’m wrong.Ah, Einstein. That well known Atheist!
Einstein famously said “I am not an atheist.”
