Let’s see if a proper investigation into the police conduct or it is politicised1 user thanked author for this post.

Bit of difference between that and a kirpan, to be fair, and Christians have no obligation to go around with such items. That said, Sikhs don’t have a history of causing issues or actually using it as a weapon. Vickram Digwa was a loose cannon and booted from his Gudwara for being a menace. He and his family have behaved disgracefully, but should not be seen as a totem to unite hatred against Sikhs, who have assimilated well into British society as a whole, but you will always get bad eggs.
There probably should be an evaluation of how to proceed on kirpans in future because, even though this wasn’t a Sikh extremist attack so far as we know (more a nutter with a weapon), having access to weapons is a risk for anyone with violent tendencies. Like, if Sikhs boot someone for the Gudwara for such reasons, the person should waiver their right to have a kirpan for religious reasons being an example of possible reform.
The police definitely need to have an investigation because the protocols on what to do when someone says they’re stabbed was not followed and Henry was unfortunately treated with cynicism and disrespect. A combination of weariness, inexperienced police and cynicism towards those suspected of crimes (the police were called by Digwa, claiming he was the victim of Henry) played its role here.
I think this is a good comment on the subject:

June 3, 2026 at 10:03 pm #321468Good points Siderite, also the vast majority of white males in this country don’t respond to coded hatred by a grifter posing as a responsible member of parliament by suggesting rage is the answer to all the country’s grievances and take to the streets causing violence and injury towards the police.
June 5, 2026 at 11:28 am #321508The murder of Henry Nowak was appalling, and all anger should be directed at the murderer (and family) – thankfully a individual instance. The mistakes by the police should be investigated and changed made. There are, unfortunately, tiers in policing, but middle-class, rich, white, male, heterosexual, Christian politicians are in the tier that gets all of the advantages. Farage called for restraint when Sarah Everard was raped and murdered a policeman (a person who should never been permitted to work in the police due to many red flags), but essentially calls for the throwing of wheelie bins at officers when the murderer is not white

June 5, 2026 at 12:16 pm #321512Farage and Robinson just give an element in our society an excuse to get pissed and cause racist fuelled violence. Most people know this surely? Wonder how many of those involved this time have been prosecuted, or will be, for domestic abuse and other crimes?
