It was tbf. Sorry for getting sucked into this.
You did not get sucked in you idiot, you jumped in head first… and you probably don’t even realise, well done on the grammatical correction, I always appreciate people putting me right, and never offended.
November 6, 2024 at 9:53 pm #293209You still droning on with more insults?
I may be an idiot, but imagine being put right by such an idiot on such a basic English error.
November 6, 2024 at 9:56 pm #293210You still droning on with more insults?
You want the last word obviously, so you can have it, don’t want you topping yourself now do we?…. so I won’t reply to your next potty reply, good night Siderite. Hope you find the dictionary.

November 6, 2024 at 9:58 pm #293214I mean, you were desperate to reply with your last post tbf. It wasn’t even directed at you, but you had to comment with more digs at mental health and insults. Like I said, toxic, but no surprise from you.

Tbf, Awaywego is amusing, I admit that and I am beginning to see the good in you. ;-)

Glad you enjoyed it, to be honest I enjoyed it myself, I met Awaywego when he came to Ilkeston, nice chap, going to sign off now, hope I have raised a few smiles tonight. It wasn’t my intention but the opportunity arose so I took it, all are welcome to come and have a pint with me if we get promoted to NLN …or you get relegated to our league (hope not)
November 7, 2024 at 5:39 am #293228Having had a pub/restaurant in the past i concur with many points made on this thread .. catering can be a nightmare business so much so i always steered clear and took care of the bar side of the biz.
I aint no expert but IMO any food menu should be kept as small as possible this more so with the time restraints associated with events including football, most menu items can be pre prepared ie pies etc in a warmer ready to go same with the burger patties, hot dogs and chips so orders just need assembling.
Better to do only a few things spot on then have a huge menu choice leading to staff confusion customer back up, a sub standard product and increased waste.
Pie , SS roll , Pasty
Sides Chips with Peas or beans
GravyBurger
Hot DogDrinks
Soft drinks in cans
Tea Coffee BovrilNo need for any desserts .. the Cookie ppl cover that (if still there) or just sell stuff like Mars, Snickers etc or even an SUFC Branded choc bar
All sounds too easy but it isnt and probably the reason the club is struggling with it and no one has taken the catering gig on at AAGP since the SG had a go.

November 7, 2024 at 10:39 am #293260I did say I got sucked in for a reason. Though, I couldn’t have asked for a better display over why I think he’s divisive and toxic. I acknowledge my first reply wasn’t courteous, but there are ways to handle it.

I was watching Bayern v Benfica when this all kicked off.
So you invited Patrick back with open arms.
Also a certain manager has become available?
And your one to talk about toxic and divisive? In reply to Iron414, nobody is pleased with the state we’re in.
I was more concerned that the new look board gave a new contract to a manager who:Signed an injured player on £1500 a week
Won 3 of his first 18 games
Relegated us
Signed more injury prone players
Signed players and didn’t use them, building up a huge wage billWho pushed for this… Somebody no longer involved with SUFC, wonder who that is?
But now we have a manager on a reduced budget, one we can afford, it’s an issue? is it a “Big and Tall” problem eh>
November 8, 2024 at 11:29 am #293385If I had a clue what you were talking about I would respond.
November 8, 2024 at 1:20 pm #293398I am equally as baffled.
Big, tall and advising the board to extend Deans contract… Simon Elliott? (not what I’d describe as big and tall but maybe CMC is a dwarf?) Seems like I’m missing someone obvious here, but I am scratching my head?
It would appear CMC was successful in the task I set him on a couple of days ago; ‘to identify what the board had been smoking when they extended the contract of a rookie manager only 7 games into the season’.
And clearly he’s been having a dabble himself!
As for the below:-
‘Signed players and didn’t use them’ …. as opposed to Butler’s seven wonder signings that are playing every game and setting the league alight?
‘Signed injury prone players’… Carlton? The others have hardly kicked a ball this season so are yet to have an opportunity to get injured.
‘Won 3 of his first 18 games’… In the division above, a full time league, up against the likes of Notts County and Wrexham. Butler’s won 3 in the last 12 in a part time league, after a full pre-season and with signings of his choosing.
‘Relegated us’…. There’s time yet! (I say in jest of course, he couldn’t…. Could he?!)
November 8, 2024 at 1:42 pm #293400As a footnote I’m no Dean super fan and was not disappointed to see him go. But it would appear we have a downgrade in Butler. We are now on less points than we were at the same stage last season and are in terrible form. Last year we won 5/6 games in November and 5/7 in December. Think even our most optimistic of fans would say that’s highly unlikely this year.
