The right had a point that there was too much eagerness to censor from some on the left. Police going round to people’s homes for tweets expressing opinions was daft and wrong. Which is why it is so frustrating to see so many of the same people cheer on hounding of those who dared to criticise Kirk. It’s not even about those who said ghoulish things about Kirk, but many want anyone who dared to say anything negative to face repercussions. People like Stephen Miller want the opposition to the Republicans categorised as domestic terrorists. So much for free speech.

At least, with the left, it was often just silly university professors and activists. Now the government is pushing for what is allowed to be said and broadcast, with threats to news channels for wrongthink. Sounds like that totalitarian Marxist government coming into place for me. :-)

I mean the simple truth is Trump , his government and his right leaning followers are just blatant hypocrites when it comes to “ their “ version of free speech, very sad but also very dangerous. Is it just me fearing for democracy in the USA based on this kind of occurrence?

It’s ignited a ridiculous civil war among many of the talking heads, where Candace Owens has gone further off the rails and started ranting about how Israel killed Charlie Kirk, did 9/11, the Bondi Beach massacre, the slave trade and more (just swap Jews with Zionists and Israel and they will claim it’s just ‘legitimate criticism’), while spewing neo-Nazi-esque hate about Jews. Ben Shapiro has come out against her, while Tucker Carlson and Megyn Kelly decide there are ‘no enemies on the right’, so refuse to criticise Candace and make out it’s all lies and smears, and they are the victims really because people are upset at them standing with such reprehensible views.

Yes, this example isn’t specifically from the Kirk murder, but it was her Charlie Kirk conspiracies that started this spat.

Yep fruit loops are everywhere and quite a few in the Trump administration ( well they do have the perfect role model as leader ) but all this hatred, heavily redacted Epstein files and general illegal use of force in different parts of the world makes you wonder if sanity and balance will ever get a chance to raise its head again. I mean there should be checks and balances for all this nonsense but I’m not seeing a right lot of it at the moment, very dangerous times indeed. Merry Xmas everyone.
