Andy Cole evening is just room hire along with the Bruce Grobbeler evening run by Nor Lait promotions all tickets from their web site, so no creaming anything from the ticket price, lost opportunity imo.
Hard enough for jerry to run the coach without having the minefield of getting match tickets for everyone. adults, over 60s at some clubs over 65s others same with 21s, 18s, 16s, and under 12s at times.
And like 64 says the coach is just a private entity.April 16, 2025 at 2:00 pm #302381Andy Cole evening is just room hire along with the Bruce Grobbeler evening run by Nor Lait promotions all tickets from their web site, so no creaming anything from the ticket price, lost opportunity imo.
Unless you’re party to private business info about the arrangements made over room hire costs, how can you say it’s a lost opportunity?
April 16, 2025 at 5:15 pm #302387Iam not.
But let’s go back to junior school, Treat it like a cake, one person in the room that person could have all the cake, 2 people in the room and your only likely to get half at best.
Enough said!April 16, 2025 at 6:04 pm #302390Iam not.

Enough said!If the Club was the organiser of this event (or others), the wage bill associated with spending time on admin and so on (plus the production expenses) could negate any profit. Let the outside organisation do the work, let the Club get what they can without blowing too much in the way of resources.
April 16, 2025 at 6:13 pm #302391It’s more or less the same thinking for catering points etc, I’d say. Contracting things out and charging a fee removes certain costs from your equation and you can actually end up with more profit than you otherwise might.
April 16, 2025 at 7:08 pm #302392Or at least a predictable profit

If they’d employed someone to run these events you’d whine about non playing wages.
April 16, 2025 at 7:51 pm #302397As if they dont employ enough down there already lol.
Though i dont believe they’ve filled the Hospitality and event manager they were advertising for back in January.
More the merrier.April 16, 2025 at 8:14 pm #302399As if they dont employ enough down there already lol.

More the merrier. They certainly need to sort elements of the hospitality. It’s been a decent enough experience on the occasions I’ve had the good fortune to go – but the food was almost CSE Home Economics level.

A modern day amateur version of L&H.
Throw in a plank, a piano, a couple of bowler hats and away they go.
Scratch cards, travel reservations, teen temptresses, unity, SM spats – I’m sure they could conjure up a few skits.1 user thanked author for this post.
April 17, 2025 at 10:26 am #302415The strip show they held in the iron bar went down very we, maybe a few Asian babes for Stu.
Spoiled though with one little lad wanting to fight the biggest in the room, just before they were going to get down to the sex show.
Don’t think anyone will disagree that sex sells, let’s be having it Mr vice president or CEO.April 17, 2025 at 10:30 am #302417Exec boxes converted to pleasure palaces… Thai massage with extras whilst watching the game out the window.
April 17, 2025 at 10:40 am #302419Deck the goals out with mattresses and hire them out so everyone can score.

IFA to supervise with his expertise in such matters.

Don’t think anyone will disagree that sex sells, let’s be having it Mr vice president or CEO.In my younger days i did once attend a cranking strip night at Glanford park exec lounge it was circa in the late 90s and very well attended , a couple of very well proportioned young ladies if my memory hasnt deserted me totally.
Of course i left just before the lasses removed their final bits of clothing as i was very shy back then and had my paper round to do early in the morning.2 users thanked author for this post.

Supervisor? new CSO.
April 20, 2025 at 12:39 pm #302776Just to remind people. When our vastly inexperienced CEO arrived he said this.
“Scunthorpe United have an opportunity to create
social value and they can do that through joy,
through the entertainment that they offer on the pitch…”Bet he wished he had kept that to his self.
April 20, 2025 at 12:47 pm #302778Would help if he could sort the club emails out, that nice man joe who does the blogs (better than Gareth’s imo) emailed the club a week ago about finance for season tickets and he hasn’t had a reply, would seem the leopard hasn’t changed its spots yet again.
Not though this problem hasnt been made aware of before.April 20, 2025 at 1:11 pm #302784Joe Richards is a top man, no agendas, loves the club

April 21, 2025 at 8:36 am #302908Since the new CEO came in communication between the club and fans has decreased dramatically
It would be nice if the club remained a tad more consistent with updates and info on SM . SUFC official website , FB etc , i understand its hard but lets say as vocal in defeat looking at where it went wrong as in a win lapping up the glory and adulation… its like lets close the door and the Radcliffe KLT debacles will drift away.Still no pre PBS AB or player interview to tell us how tough it will be and whose injured and im bored of birthdays of Iron past players from 1928 when quite possible every current SUFC fan was at best a stain on the underpants of humanity.
* Disclaimer
(apologies to any 95 year old fans who attended a game at 1 to 5 yrs old and remember Harry Lamb as im sure he was an excellent player)April 21, 2025 at 8:52 am #302910Ah yes old ” mint sauce” Harry Lamb, bet les could tell a few stories about him, lol.
April 21, 2025 at 1:18 pm #302926Harry would now be 97 so I doubt any current 95 year old at the age of 1 to 5 would have been old enough to see Harry playing at the OS. I vaguely remember him playing and I’m in my 80’s.
