Smith has to start Sat looked the sharpest and Ewing and Westbrooke just below their high standards, Roberts continues to shine.
With Boston coming to park the Hurst bus and and nick a goal we need the all quality on the pitch to get ahead or it will be a long afternoon.

Whilst at times we played some good, attacking football I felt, overall, we were a bit disappointing. No need to dwell on individual performances but the previously excellent midfield were well below their best last night. Deserved a draw, could have won, on to Saturday.
    (Based on DAZN coverage)

Ewing and Westbrook have been so impressive in quicky breaking up play and getting us playing forward – that was just absent last night, Ewing looking like he was running through Treacle. On another night Rory doesn’t make the howler, smith’s ONSIDE goal is given, and smith or carlton put away that golden opp.

Their fans seem to reckon they’d turn us over again in playoffs, I think the opposite is true.

I only got Radio Humberside coverage unlike the DAZN biased TV, not just Carlisle, York and Halifax commentary are too biased.
Got excited when Cal Roberts scored to make it 1:1, but agree with others that we give the ball away too easily.
Our midfield was poor against Southend and the sane last night.
Is it me or has the great OLI EWING dipped in form since contract/January exit. On the great surface at Carlisle he should have run the game.
And Cal Roberts is our best player, do others think he is more important than Oli Ewing..
Arggh, Boston the spoliers at home bossed by a former Grimsby Town manager, and the iron !
Just think these managers have more experience than AB..

they weren’t poor just not at their high standards. Last night we were out tackled by a strong midfield. i would rather have our skilful midfield.

Starbug needs to be reinstated. He’s superior to Barrows.
Must agree about their dismal commentators. Had a roomful of football intelligent people watching on DAZN.(No. It doesn’t happen all that often.) All were agreed that the commentary bias was disgraceful.

DAZN should get on top of this. If they’re charging top dollar, the least subscribers should expect is a more balanced, less biased, more intelligent than farmers league commentary. Appreciate we’re listening to local radio commentary but come on!

A draw would have been a fair result. Bit of a howler from Mahady for their first and poor defending from the corner for the second. No complaints about their third as we were all up there in search of the equaliser.

Big problem tonight was the number of times we gave the ball away cheaply. Need to cut that out.

Always a big ask tonight and just the fourth defeat in 29 games, so not too shabby.

The problem with passing has been an issue for several seasons with several Managers. I do not understand the reason why it gets mentioned time and time again. If that was sorted permanently we would be OK.

Don’t understand why Bellahoun doesn’t get more of a run out at full back. Denton is a real concern for me. His passing is awful and his defending leaves a lot to be desired. He seems to switch off quite a lot in important situations. I would feel confident meeting Carlisle in the playoffs if it came to that.

Think Belahouan is injured. But regarding Denton’s passing, it was his peach of a cross field pass that setup our only goal Vs Southend.
