Do you ever wonder why you’ve never been paid for this expert judgement of yours?

Remember Kyle Wooton being dubbed utter dog mess by a certain poster on here, I’m sure Kyle is still laughing his tits off after such a poor judgement. I’ll wait for the response “ but he was when he was here “, which is incorrect he was played out of position and went on to prove doubters that their judgement wasn’t so sound after all.

Did all 8 managers Kyle played under play him out of position, over a period of 6+ years while he was here.

Not sure Awaywego I’m sure your dying to inform me though, however the facts show that since Kyle left us he has gone on to have a really successful career under different managers at different clubs, not bad for utter dog mess.

Undoubtedly he’s gone on to have successful career and fair play to him, much the same as Godden.

How many more years should we have given him to come good at Scunny after the already the 6 we’d given him.

When he was properly ready for the first team in 2018 was played wide.

Barton Scorpions best mate Lee Novak was nailed on as centre forward delivering 9 goals and very little other contribution otherwise. Kyle managed 6 as a winger with no pace or trickery and the crowd on his back. We only like players when they come back for a second time.

I think we had a reasonable offer made for Wooton and he moved on but wether we gave him longer or not the term dog mess was completely out of order for a young striker trying to make his way in a struggling team where he was often played out of position that’s my point.

Well said Iron Awe. I used to have the odd discussion at the time. Still rankles because since Kyle and Paddy were driven how many people have we tried to replace them !

It will always be a stupid decision and I also include Lyle Taylor in another bad decisions being made.

I was one of the few who rated him and wanted us to re-sign him and send him out on loan. Certain posters thought he was terrible. Fans64, being one.

Taylor, Kee and R Jones three of the biggest wastes of money in our history.

Since 2020, 24 academy players have made their debuts for their (MU) first team.

The 24 First Team Debutants Since 2000

Of those 24, only 1 has really made the grade. Garnacho is struggling to get in Villas first team this season.

Alejandro Garnacho – number of first team appearances for MU varies between 93 and 144, depending on the source (?!)

He moved on to Chelsea in 2025.
In season 2026-27, he’s out on loan at Villa.
He’s played just 34 minutes over 3 games for Villa so far this season.

Kobbie Mainoo has (according to Wiki) 82 appearances for Man Utd and 14 for England.

Next best is Anthony Elanga, who has 55 appearances credited to him on the MU site.

    Wiki lists:
    Manchester United 39 seasons 2021-23
    Nottingham Forest 74 seasons 2023-25
    Newcastle United 34 seasons 2025-

7 year groups and only 1 players has come through and established himself at the club and also gone on to play for the national team since 2000.

Big money purchases and the ever increasing percentage of foreign players plying their craft in the top league makes it almost impossible for these kids to come through.

Released at U18 and these players have suitors.

Released at U16 and teams will obviously still look at them because of their background.

Every play tends to fall to their level.
If Stockport aren’t prepared to throw him in to their first team – why not?
What’s he going to alongside the rag tag players currently wearing our shirt?

You’d want your ‘apprentice’ learning off of a master craftsman – not a suck it and see bungler / hack.

    Let’s see how he goes.
I may end up eating my hat!
    Good luck to him.
