Make that 6 new grounds.
May 15, 2025 at 5:07 pm #3044778-10 could do better,might be 9
May 15, 2025 at 8:12 pm #304488Come 18:00hrs on Sun 18th May 2025 – will it be an epitaph, a prologue or an end of season developmental review?
So it’s not going to extra time and penalties then?
I think it’ll either be 2-1 or 2-0 to us at the 90.
May 16, 2025 at 9:01 am #304496At times attitude has cost us dear the play-offs being the result.
A division higher and I would not be confident with this leadership. We are still looking for a Head of Recruitment but based on signings during the season not sure that his position I would consider AB for. But as I do not make the decisions what will be will be !
But can only wish the best to all at the club for Sunday. Said before ‘Fortune Favours the Brave’ so got to go for it,
May 16, 2025 at 9:43 am #304500IF we win on Sunday there are so many other variables how things pan out, who stays who leaves, the budget etc etc but same as Sf 49 i too am not overly confident in ABs leadership and motivational skills coming up against well drilled NL sides .. not sure i buy this just one more game huddle on the pitch malarkey , saying that fingers crossed AB gets the players up for it and its attack from the KO and a WIN.
Sadly im sticking with my earlier prediction
May 16, 2025 at 11:09 am #304501I’d consider myself pretty sceptical but even I struggle to find an issue with a ‘one more game’ pitch huddle.
May 16, 2025 at 5:56 pm #304519The 2 week layoff is a worry for me.
May 16, 2025 at 7:31 pm #304525The 2 week layoff is a worry for me.
Must be a worry for Chester fans too I’m guessing?
May 16, 2025 at 8:27 pm #304527They have an U19 team which would enable them to play an in house game.
Could play 11 v 10 or 11 v 9 if it’s too easy or swop centre halves or even forward pairings etc… lots of possibilities to work with.Do we have enough fit players to have an in house 11 v 11?
May 16, 2025 at 9:35 pm #304528They will have been doing all that shite Rene stop worrying about jack sh** FFS and chill out .

Yes Rene. I completely understand this concern. Think we’ll see within the first 10mins how may have effected. Hopefully, not at all.

May 17, 2025 at 6:35 am #304530As the day bears down upon us, all I can manage to say is: “Jibber, jibber, jibber.”
It’s been a tough fortnight of niggling worrrrrrrrrrry.
If the lads play to their best – we should win. If they don’t – more ‘sick as a parrotitude!’
Repeat after me: Must not think of Boston. Must not think of Boston. Must not think of Boston!May 17, 2025 at 8:31 am #304531Yeah… they stumped us.
Hopefully Chester don’t seal that 2nd promotion place.May 17, 2025 at 9:17 am #304533The 2 week layoff is a worry for me.

I doubt the players will have been sitting at home waiting for tomorrow. They should be refreshed and fully on board with the managers plans. (That could be a worry) Surely some innovative dead ball tactics will be in evidence and 100% successful. UTI

May 17, 2025 at 9:21 am #304534Refreshed or rusty through lack of match practice. Can’t deny the latter is a thing, but they simply have to be up and at it from the off.

…and as I said to Rene in an earlier post all this stuff applies to Chester too, best not to overthink things just for the sake of it IMO.
May 17, 2025 at 9:34 am #304536Clunan interview .. he mentions the long wait plus more.
I hope they have been practicing penalties.
May 17, 2025 at 12:47 pm #304542He read my post.
May 18, 2025 at 9:46 pm #304619Cut it fine but he passed the test.
Well done Andy.
May 18, 2025 at 10:11 pm #304620Well done Andy, mission accomplished. Thank F**k.
May 19, 2025 at 5:10 am #304633Thankfully he listened and abandoned his mumpsimus formation.
Steep learning curve.
Got there in the end.
Stan’s the man for next season!May 19, 2025 at 1:00 pm #304709Even given yesterday’s result, I see no reason to change my assessment of AB’s performance. The one thing I would add is he does now appear eager to learn. His next test is the retention of key players and summer recruitment. If we have to rely on trials to fill the numbers then in the NL that could be the first sign of trouble!
May 19, 2025 at 1:08 pm #304712Pass with Merit.
Could have attained a distinction with greater application.

May 19, 2025 at 1:17 pm #304715I know we had all the necessary resources to win that league, but that doesn’t make AB’s success in his first season any less of an achievement.
Well done lad! UTI

May 19, 2025 at 9:59 pm #304815All four clubs promoted to the NL at the end of last season (2023/24) survived at that level (2024/25) and retain their status for season 2025/26.
Consolidation is probably the name of the game next season?
Back to you Stan.
May 19, 2025 at 11:01 pm #304821Danny Whitehall potentially saved his job with the last gap winner at Marine. Fine margins.
However, importantly he never seemed to lose the dressing room. His messages have been pretty consistent through the season and that has shown in his side: hard working, togetherness and tactically well drilled. Even if at times we never agreed with the tactics.
Absolutely delighted for him though.
