No I broke the trend by picking a system and fitting into it players in their preferred positions who didn’t perform poorly yesterday, where possible.
Butterfield can be considered unlucky, he was pedestrian but, as somebody else said, he was waiting for something to happen in front of him. Much like the rest of us!
Remember Dean Martin ? He didn’t particularly run about when he controlled the centre circle and Jacob doesn’t but the issue judging by all the comments is no one makes runs for forward probing passes.
Next the team selection – seems it is based on who has less minutes on their timer as they are judged by a ridiculous algorithm about the perception of “they will get injured” !!
Pick the best 11 and play until they fail.

20 plus years ago, the youth team were amongst the very very early pioneers of using GPS data and they had that massive tripod for filming games.
I remember the first time I saw them ‘deploy’ that at Bottesford; I though “what the hell?”
It was quite a few years later before the first team started to use the same system and I believe they initially used the Youth Team’s SS for a few years.
Bin sports science guy off – they’ve created a niche position at clubs for themselves. Constructed their own jobs.
It’d be a cost saving.
Trust your eyes – you don’t need data to see who’s playing well, who’s in the right place at the right time, who’s busting a got to traverse from A to B, who’s putting the mileage in on the pitch etc.
There’s no need to over egg the pudding.
