I struggle to read too much into the semantics used in the gibberish match reports when phrases like Butler having “seven new summer additions to implement into his line-up” and “last weekend’s goalscorer, Luke Brennan, inducted into the starting XI” appear.
The thesaurus is clearly getting some use, but if anything it’s obfuscating rather than enlightening.
