The Trust are now saying they are going to consult with members about any future fund raising. It’s a bit late for that as they have already put £500 of the Trusts money into the Go Fund Me without any consultation.
Come to that they never consulted with members about the hair brained scheme in the first place
The fact they have raised around £3600 out of a target of £50 k shows just what a stupid idea this was from the start.
The wording of the latest email is interesting. I think they realise they messed up and are either
i) genuinely trying to put things right, or
ii) setting up the necessary apparently independent body so that those within the Trust who unilaterally launched the funder can co-opt that new body (as apparent independents) and continue the agenda with the Trust itself being distanced from scrutiny / criticism.
