Thanks Deery for correctly (and rather subtly) pointing out my double standards regarding cheating.
Funnily enough was chatting with a couple of Yeovil fans in the pub pre match and found myself having to justify Whitehall’s unsavoury antics and it did make me wonder why I would do that.
He’s a sh1thouse but he’s our sh1thouse is wearing a bit thin going into the fourth season.
At least 5 times yesterday he chose the clown option when making a telling pass would have been easier. He missed out on a fairly easy headed chance in the first half being already on his way down for the pretend penalty when the ball arrived centre of goal 6 yards out and centre back nowhere.
He did not win a single free kick for these incidents and only once out of his other random simulations did he con a fairly poor ref into a free kick.
I would estimate 4 or 5 times he was actually fouled by centre backs and got nothing. This is par for the course in most games because National League referees are well aware of his previous and his reputation.
The most frustrating thing is on the odd occasion he ditches the shithousery for a spell he is a very decent centre forward. Those spells sadly don’t come around too often.
Time for a change perhaps – it could work for both parties. Meanwhile I will stop moaning about other teams cheating. Glass houses and all that.
