Teams often drop into the shape without the ball to facilitate a mid or low block.
Has its merits when you’re trying to pinch a result against a superior side. Had a bit of a renaissance in the World Cup where the increased competitors meant more games with teams of mismatched capabilities.

Virtually extinct as an attacking formation with the ball. Back in the day it worked best with a traditional style centre forward who could get the ball under control any find his tricky and speedy partner.

We have neither of the above so probably not a great idea for us.

I think it will be the 4-3-3 or 4-2-1-3 that Butler usually deploys when he’s not tinkering with 5 at the back. I think the 5 at the back can work to hang onto a score for 10 or 15 minutes. As Tuchel recently demonstrated not such a good plan for 40 minutes which Butler gets tempted to do at times.
