The more I think about this, the more I think renaming the Iron Bar could be one of only two serious options.
In his most recent visit, lots of memories were made in the Iron Bar. Calling it Keegan’s would give it “a certain something” as well as pay tribute.
Renaming a stand would be a pointless exercise – he actually played at GP only the once.
Calls for a statue to Keegan are an excessive kneejerk reaction to the shock and the grief.
If there IS to be some sort of memorial, a focal point for people to gather and grieve when former players die, wouldn’t it be more appropriate – and fair to all who have given service – if there was a simple and tasteful Wall Of Remembrance (along the lines of the one outside the office door).
