TT was brought in exactly for this game. The type of game that Southgate couldn’t quite get us over the line in. TT has failed miserably.
Still struggling to get my head around the mentality switch as soon as we go 1-0 up. Bringing on defender after defender is telling your team to sit deeper and deeper and try and cling on for dear life. We had no outlet, everyone could see what was going to happen. What did Argentina do when they went 2-1 up…they left two players on the half way line so that we couldn’t pin them back in their own area!
