Have we got a Hugh on the books or not?
Back in the 60s at John Leggot, Old Nick – teacher of some form of English – liked to attract the attention of pupils by shrieking ‘Hugh boy’ at the top of his voice to any inattentive pupil. (More often than not it was to my late, lifelong friend Ray Nimmo.)
That sounds like Plod.
“You, girl, move!”
“You, girl, MOVE!”
Walks across, picks her up, moves her.
