Be interesting to see if he can replicate the Manchester revival under him on a national basis, time will tell but I admire anybody who wants to bring about radical change. It’s ok people saying Britain isn’t working under successive governments and we want change, well maybe a complete change of emphasis on how government works and is run is long overdue. The HS2 farce is a prime example of a major government project that has backfired, remember how Cameron and Osborne pushed it as opening up the North to business investment? A few chops and changes plus a massive overspend or perhaps a ridiculous underestimate in the first place and suddenly the North can f*** off. London to the Midlands all fine and dandy, the North , well it’s just tough guys, we will make a lot of noise about how overtime we will improve the existing lines but it’s BS and people know that. Hope Burnham gives government the thorough kicking it deserves IMO.
