I was speaking to an Egyptian the other day and he was saying he supports the US and Israeli action, saying it should have come sooner. I politely expressed my doubts, but he said it’s a terror state that is causing trouble everywhere else, so it does highlight why there is a growing unity against Iran in the region. It is Iran that is becoming the pariah state and it’s because people know what it has been trying to do in Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Palestine and Yemen.
One thing that has baffled me is a ‘Starmer derangement syndrome’ that has plagued the press. I have seen headlines calling him out for not joining in with the USA and Israel. It seems so out of touch with the majority public opinion, which is not in favour of joining the war. Starmer has done a poor job so far, but it is really hard when the press go after him for anything.
