SUFC is a business and IMO has had more than enough charitable assistance over the last few years
It’s not a business, though, is it? It’s a longstanding community / social institution that, by necessity, has to have an element of being run as a business to function day to day / stay alive longer term.
If it IS only a business then you / we are merely customers – and I don’t think you or many others would really consider themselves that. In fact, I’d wager most would be insulted by that.
In my opinion, we all have some responsibility and we all have to accept the blurred lines a bit. It’s not “charity” as that suggests a slight disconnection from the club. It’s ‘what it takes to keep it going’ sometimes, and when it’s those times we all have to put in a little bit more than just simple purchases (tickets) if we can. Not necessarily money, but (for instance) the volunteering.
