Having had a pub/restaurant in the past i concur with many points made on this thread .. catering can be a nightmare business so much so i always steered clear and took care of the bar side of the biz.
I aint no expert but IMO any food menu should be kept as small as possible this more so with the time restraints associated with events including football, most menu items can be pre prepared ie pies etc in a warmer ready to go same with the burger patties, hot dogs and chips so orders just need assembling.
Better to do only a few things spot on then have a huge menu choice leading to staff confusion customer back up, a sub standard product and increased waste.
Pie , SS roll , Pasty
Sides Chips with Peas or beans
Gravy
Burger
Hot Dog
Drinks
Soft drinks in cans
Tea Coffee Bovril
No need for any desserts .. the Cookie ppl cover that (if still there) or just sell stuff like Mars, Snickers etc or even an SUFC Branded choc bar
All sounds too easy but it isnt and probably the reason the club is struggling with it and no one has taken the catering gig on at AAGP since the SG had a go.
