If being referred to as a ‘simpleton’ with no profanity or expletives is the worst of the criticism Butler’s had I’d say it’s fairly mild. I’ve seen far worse directed towards managers (and players for that matter) of other clubs and the language has been a lot less polite.
Jimmy wasn’t that intelligent either, anyone remember his rock & hard ‘stone’ reference? That made me chuckle but he did have us playing better football, whilst returning the same points as Butler. This time last year we were regularly putting 5 and 6 goals past teams better than Rushall. Dean had more depth to the squad (not that he used it as he rarely changed his 11) but he also had major off field issues to contend with which Butler doesn’t have. So on balance similar starts but Dean edges it on entertainment value.
