A CDC report saying they are moving to multiplexed tests, with no specification of it being because of accuracy concerns
Read the link provided.
CDC encourages laboratories to consider adoption of a multiplexed method that can facilitate detection and differentiation of SARS-CoV-2 and influenza viruses.
If PCR testing was so accurate and differentiated between covid and strains of flu, why would the CDC even suggest a change in how they test going forward ?
This new more comprehensive method of testing they are proposing wouldn’t be more accurate than PCR tests would they by any chance ?
KNOCKOUT
“SALUTES THE CROWD”
For Christ’s sake. I know it says this, but withdrawing the PCR test for one which covers flu as well does not mean it wasn’t differentiating between covid and flu before. This was why I supplied a second link which explains the reasoning. The reasoning being that they wanted an efficient simultaneous test for flu and covid, so people with symptoms can know if they have flu if they haven’t got covid. This is important, as flu hospitalises people too.
The fact you have to extrapolate this interpretation shows that the link doesn’t back up your point and you have zero evidence for PCR tests being unreliable. I don’t know why you’re strutting around like a pigeon on a chess board. All you have demonstrated is a fallacious inference from the source you provided.
These new tests will work the same way as before for detecting covid. The primary difference being that they have added detection of flu. If the source said that flu was being mixed up before it would have said so, but it doesn’t, so that is your own fault interpretation.
