End of the day they were ordered by the league and the ref to finish the game and flatly refused. They have to be heavily fined and for us to get the points. Now, if this is allowed to stand and they get away with it, you’ll have other teams trying this 100%. As a result the game as we know it will be no more.

September 7, 2025 at 2:55 pm #310965Can’t see any other outcome than us getting the points. The FA rules are pretty clear on this:
“In all cases where the Management Committee are satisfied that a Match was abandoned owing to the conduct of one Team or its Club member(s) they shall award the points for the Match to the opponent.”
Wealdstone were instructed by the referee (after consulting with the PGMOL) to complete the game. They refused. Points to us.

September 7, 2025 at 3:18 pm #310966One of their fans was bleating on about 100% foul and penalty (for the challenge where he popped his shoulder).
Well he would have had an exceptionally good view of the incident from his position in the ground wouldn’t he?

September 7, 2025 at 4:40 pm #310967Oh I absolutely agree, seeing the away supporters were at the opposite end of the ground, from where the incident took place!
I wonder though if a penalty had been awarded whether they would of played on instead of hiding in the dressing room?September 7, 2025 at 10:51 pm #310973Scales needed to split himself in two for their goal – why didn’t anyone help him out with their overlap?
He’d no chance to close down the distance and prevent their overlapping player from crossing.Denton was out jumped by his guy – though he doesn’t seem to gain much height when he (Denton) jumps.
Our back four are struggling with simple balls in to the box. Happening every game.
September 7, 2025 at 11:02 pm #310974The other way of looking at it is that we’re not infallible and not conceding more than a goal a game. And, preventing fairly similar types of goals (i.e from crosses) can be worked on in training? Think I’m getting old. I’m seeing positives in everything.
September 8, 2025 at 7:35 am #310976Perhaps taking a bigger interest than I should, I looked at Wealdstone fans forum.
Not only are their supporters claiming a penalty they are also claiming that Will Evans stamped on their injured player whilst he was on the floor.
Also claiming a handball leading up to Alfie’s goal.
Incredible eyesight from the other end of the stadium by their supporters, even better than the referee who was yards away.
If Andy Butlers account of events in his interview are true and I have absolutely no doubt they are then we will be awarded the three points without the need for a replay and Wealdstone should not only receive a large fine and point’s deduction, hopefully enough to send them to the bottom of the league.

September 8, 2025 at 8:33 am #310977I think the offending team should also get a severe goal deficit. May I suggest – 10 goals, this then could affect end of season positions which could be very damaging. Only 3 pts may not be an issue for them but a MINUS 10 – now that is different.
September 8, 2025 at 8:58 am #310979In fairness there was a handball leading up to Alfie Beestin’s goal, However they are deluded trying to claim for a penalty and red card for the injury incident.
Need a swift conclusion from the league to put an end to the debacle, we are current on the same amount of games played as Morecambe!
September 8, 2025 at 10:19 am #310980The DAZN camera had a good view of the incident. I didn’t once think it looked like a penalty
September 8, 2025 at 10:37 am #310981You should have been stood with the Wealdstone fan, might have changed your mind. He had a much better view than DAZN and the ref.
September 8, 2025 at 11:37 am #310982Woking fan here – obv not at your game but midweek our striker Ashford went down heavily, broke his collarbone and was helped off in huge pain, with gas and air to steady him. No question of our players abandoning the game – it was an unfortunate football injury. We are not alone but we have had several very distressing, career ending injuries over the last few years and never a question of abandoning. I can understand when its a Christian Eriksen type situation ( even that was played though) but this seems absolutely bizarre.
I guess the referees report will be key but haven’t great confidence in the officials or the national League hierarchy to make the correct decision

Tinpot club with a clown for a manager.Deffo tin pot, and trying to say that they should have been awarded a penalty during the match is clutching at straws. There is no VAR and the referees decisions are final. They didn’t get a penalty, and were instructed to finish the match. A big fine and points deduction, surely. This kind of behavior mustn’t be encouraged. Otherwise everyone will be at it!
September 8, 2025 at 12:09 pm #310985I’m a Barnet fan. Wealdstone are a horrible club. Every single club I’ve ever seen us play I’m neutral about once the final whistle has gone. Not so Wealdstone.
Wealdstone and Barnet’s grounds are only 9 miles apart but after our uncomfortable experience there ( mum and 2 daughters) it’s the one ground I’d never set foot in again. The one place we’ve visited where misogyny is truly in evidence. But then, they set upon our male fans too, lining up by the exit to see them off, another time waiting for them in the town centre. Then after the final whistle their then manager lead the singing of anti Barnet songs in the club house. Their current manager is one time ex Barnet, when he was with us he fooled some fans by constantly saying how much he cared about his mum. I could imagine him trying to fool the NL board too. I wouldn’t trust anybody from there.
I hope the ruling goes in your favour. You were very welcoming when we visited in Feb 2003 ( even if Barnet spoilt a big night for you ) and have always seemed to be a decent club.5 users thanked author for this post.
September 8, 2025 at 12:46 pm #310987Another point. 6 years ago Barnet had an F A Cup tie at Potters Bar Town. Heading towards injury time, Barnet 0-1 ahead when our player suffered a truly horrible broken leg. Treatment on the pitch, oxygen, taken to hospital. We didn’t request the match be abandoned. Our players were distraught. Moments later Potters Bar equalised with their first chance of the match because we weren’t concentrating.
OK, we easily won the replay. But the incident was genuinely traumatic at the time. More so than the Wealdstone shoulder injury sounds to have been.5 users thanked author for this post.

Tinpot club with a clown for a manager.Agreed.
We should unquestionably receive 3 points. They should be ‘reprimanded’ with a 3 points deduction and a fine.
A points deduction is required to set a red line – engage in this type of malarkey at your peril. They could have played out the remaining time in the hope of grabbing a point – there’s no way in the multiverse that they should be given a 2nd chance!
Let’s see some action NL!
September 8, 2025 at 2:17 pm #310992They have to be heavily sanctioned. You can’t just decide not to finish a game after being ordered too just because you don’t feel like it.
The league will surely have to make an example of them to safeguard against any other clubs trying it on.

September 8, 2025 at 3:48 pm #310994Dislocated shoulder? Pff!
Tour de France 2025, Stage 15
Muret to CarcassonneDistance = 170km

Vertical Gain (climbing) 2400 mJulian Alaphilippe was involved in a crash involving numerous riders in the peloton at just 17km in to the days race.
So, only 153km (95 miles) to go!

We could always resurrect the Magic Robot thread and ask it?
September 8, 2025 at 5:26 pm #310999The League managed to order the replay of the Buxton game 2 days after the game was abandoned. The only reason I see any need for this decision to take longer is because they’ll want (need!) to issue Wealdstone with some sort of punishment…not just give us the points.
But saying that we still haven’t heard anything regarding the Eastleigh abandonment so I won’t be holding my breath for a decision to be made any time soon.
September 8, 2025 at 5:30 pm #311000IMH(umble)O both results should stand as they are.
Wealdstone should be fined and deducted 3 points.
Reset, move on.
