Wealdstone players pretty much down the tunnel before they even checked on their player…manager in the refs ear. They clearly didn’t want to play. Ridiculous!
September 6, 2025 at 5:56 pm #310897Okay, so who pissed off the gypsy?

September 6, 2025 at 5:57 pm #310898Well there you have it. Butler confirmed on radio that the ref and League wanted the game to continue and Wealdstone refused to play on. Anything other than an incoming 3-0 win will be absolutely ludicrous!

September 6, 2025 at 5:59 pm #310899All because of a shoulder injury as well…what a farce!
September 6, 2025 at 6:19 pm #310904The goals scored by our players today should stand. 4-1 win should be awarded. The league need to nip this in the bud with a tough punishment for wealdstone.

September 6, 2025 at 6:22 pm #310906But they won’t!

Absolutely. 2-1 down and had already made all of their substitutions so cried off!
September 6, 2025 at 6:33 pm #310909The camera certainly picked up their manager laughing with Butler as he took his players off. Must have been a reaction under deep anguish and trauma.
September 6, 2025 at 6:34 pm #310912Disappointing to see ‘taking the piss’ become a national sport
September 6, 2025 at 6:46 pm #310915Really enjoyable first half with three good goals and we deservedly leading at the break. Chances to score second half notably Roberts and Howe plus Rory had a good game between the sticks, very commanding display from him. Then the farce begins, according to AB on Humberside their player has dislocated his shoulder and had it popped back in, just a normal sporting injury, why he was down on the ground for so long and it took an age to stretcher him off, who knows? Their refusal to finish the game based on their players being in the ” wrong mental place ” is bull poop. They had used all their subs, they would have been down to ten men had they resumed so they bottled it and sought an easy way out IMO. Give us the win we deserve, call it a completed game and throw the book at Wealdstone, they have behaved appallingly, unsporting and totally unprofessional.

September 6, 2025 at 6:52 pm #310917Agree with all of that. The League need to make a decision pronto as both Starbuck and Horton should have served their suspensions today. If we go to Forest Green next weekend still not knowing the official outcome then they’re both going to have to sit out AGAIN!
September 6, 2025 at 8:34 pm #310924Wealdstone = profoundly embarrassing chicanery!
Man up!
September 6, 2025 at 8:45 pm #310925is this the equivalent of a kid taking his ball home because he is losing?

September 6, 2025 at 8:54 pm #310926Is it karma for Whitehall’s shithousery?
September 6, 2025 at 9:12 pm #310928Never seen the like before, hopefully the league slap a nice fine and points deduction in for good measure.
Another really solid performance today. Tactics spot on again and on another day we’d have had 3/4 first half. Whatever we have left in the budget I’d be using to tie Ewing up on a long term deal- superb player for the level.
Continue to be impressed by what I’m seeing and it’s reassuring to see players stepping from the fringes and putting in competent performances. Tougher tests to come but you can’t ask for much more than they’ve delivered

September 6, 2025 at 9:19 pm #310929They have to be fined. Ordered by the league to finish but refused to come out claiming they weren’t in the right place mentally. I mean come on.
If this is allowed to stand it will bring the game into disrepute and you’ll have other teams trying that kind of crap. I’ve seen some things in football but what Wealdstone did was terrible, so, so poor from them.

Literally purring when he’s on the ball. A delight to watch.

September 7, 2025 at 8:00 am #310946Rowley is getting better with every game but I was shocked yesterday – I think he put a pass astray.

September 7, 2025 at 10:48 am #310957Ewing has certainly been our best player so far this season, Roberts not hit the heights yet and should have scored yesterday but we have seen the odd glimpse of genius, the goal against Halifax being an example. Got to say our two centre backs continue to impress, both very good yesterday and before someone mentions the Wealdstone goal, I thought it was a great cross and a brilliant headed finish, sometimes these things happen.

September 7, 2025 at 10:52 am #310958Whilst I’m on the Wealdstone thread has anyone read some of their fans version of yesterday’s events? I don’t do X or whatever their forums on, be interesting to see what they think of their teams refusal to come out the dressing room and finish the game?
September 7, 2025 at 11:13 am #310959They’re pretty quiet apart from the odd numpty and a few embarrassed by it.
September 7, 2025 at 12:41 pm #310960Beestin tried imitating Purrlo at Carlisle it didn’t end well.
You were there NI.September 7, 2025 at 1:19 pm #310961Yup! Not his finest moment, but he wasn’t the only one. 2-0 up at halftime and in control. Steward said to me “you’ll go on and win this 4-0”. I said “we won’t!” 2-2 FT.
But that was during our spectacular fall from grace. I believe we reached the nadir two years ago and Alfie has been part of that turn around. Longest serving player by a country mile.

September 7, 2025 at 1:44 pm #310962Wealdstone statement “Due to the administration of morphine on the pitch and the length of time required to assess and treat him, Dan’s teammates were understandably concerned about the seriousness of his injury.” Full statement https://www.wealdstone-fc.com/post/daniel-nkrumah-injury-update
Not that concerned that they went over.

September 7, 2025 at 2:16 pm #310963One of their fans was bleating on about 100% foul and penalty (for the challenge where he popped his shoulder). It was shoulder to shoulder no where near penalty, wonder if a penalty was given the players would’ve come
back out. The answer undoubtedly is yes. League have only one path to take and that is to award the win to us otherwise their authority is shot to bits.4 users thanked author for this post.
