Gone really well today at the ground, went down 10.15 this morning, gave it a miss queuing out the shop door. Went for a walk round Central Park went back around 11.30, queuing round the back of the away stand, gave it a miss and went home. Went back down 14.15, queuing all the round the inside of the shop ( to keep punters out of the sun ) took 35 minutes to get tickets with two members of staff serving. Left with the queue exactly the same length inside the shop with more punters arriving. With online sales the club will have taken a lot of money in the last couple of days.
April 28, 2025 at 5:21 pm #303604They will have taken a lot of money into the bank account, but by the time it has been shared out with the opposition, National League and their dignitaries it won’t be a massive windfall for the club unfortunately.
At least it means a good level of support at the match.April 28, 2025 at 5:27 pm #303605Whatever they make out of Saturday they can double their money if they win the game.
April 28, 2025 at 5:53 pm #303607Absolutely TJO I just hope the home support for the semi final can top 6000 then what ever Lynn or Chorley bring on top, we want Lynn really IMO.
April 28, 2025 at 6:54 pm #303622Afraid not MK the national league take 100% of the gate money from the final, after the expenses of both clubs are deducted.
April 28, 2025 at 7:36 pm #303628Over 4500 sold already.
April 28, 2025 at 7:39 pm #303629Do the National League pocket most of the cash from all play off matches or just the final?
April 28, 2025 at 7:50 pm #303630Up to the final equally between both clubs after expenses.
April 28, 2025 at 7:58 pm #303633The National League take a percentage, they call it a levy, which they will take from the net proceeds of the game after all expenses for both clubs (and including the travel and hotel costs for National League board members and officers who attend the match). The remaining proceeds are split 50% each to the 2 clubs.
I tried to find out what percentage they take last season but couldn’t find any info other than it’s agreed with all clubs at the start of the season.April 29, 2025 at 7:03 am #303643Vs Millwall 7,190
Vs Rotherham 6,591
Vs Mk Dons 6,500
Vs Boston 8,036Looking likely there will be more home supporters there again than there were in any of our league 1 play off games
April 29, 2025 at 10:17 am #303654Bonkers that our pinnacle up that point vs MK we were only getting 6.5k for a shot at championship.

I think the fact the Club almost disappeared forever has a bit to do with the current numbers – people realising once it’s gone it’s gone, and trying to do their bit to make sure they support.

April 29, 2025 at 10:50 am #303659Same with most clubs when on the brink or have dropped out the league, Hull, Cods, Donny and Lincoln just to name the local ones.
Remember posting years ago saying it wouldn’t happen with scunny if we were in that position, well we are and I was wrong gladly.

Maybe, but the semis being played over 2 legs with home match being first (same as the Rotherham one) quite possibly had an effect on the gates. Had it been 1 leg on a Saturday at home, may have been significantly higher.

Hull on the verge of relegation to L1 .. very surprised at that

Same here, I thought apathy would kill us tbh. Happily proved wrong.

Good point- the home crowds were still on the low side though, especially for the amount of talent those teams had and the calibre of football on offering.

There will always be people who DGAF about their local football club, and amongst the support there will always be an element that is conditional and comes and goes through the years…

The Swann effect? There were certainly ‘stay aways’ at that point of his tenure.

April 29, 2025 at 1:20 pm #303683Remember when Burnley nearly dropped out of the EFL, whole town virtually turned out for their last game, believe they won it 2-1, can’t be sure but anyhow look how it turned out for them.

Part of Burnley folklore I am told. Didn’t realise it sent Lincoln down. Oh dear, what a pity:

Hull mate was there on Saturday TW. Said it was dreadful. Radio Humberside lot certainly sounded pissed off.

I have no idea (I try to be consistent), there’s lots of rumours flying around but I’ve seen it all before, and probably will do so again. Hey ho, onwards and downwards.
April 29, 2025 at 7:14 pm #303729Mike White and ” Swanny” ( not ours thank f**” ) was talking about the owner not being seen at the club for awhile on Saturday, else I wouldn’t have known either.
April 29, 2025 at 7:40 pm #303733I believe he was last seen wandering around Strasbourg shouting “Liam, Liam where are you ?”
