If a Boreham Wood victory on Tuesday, A forest Green win at Glanford park next Saturday, any criticism of Butler ?

I’m sure the “ shouldn’t have given him a new contract so early “ brigade will be on here moaning but in truth what Butler has achieved so far since becoming manager is more than worthy of a new deal IMO. Promoted in his first season, nine points clear in the playoffs with two games in hand and competing against several other clubs with bigger budgets is impressive stuff, give AB a break and if people want to moan, moan at the players who seem to sit back under their own choice on the field.

Now tell us how Spalding got on AWG, you must have had a great day with the Manchester Derby as well.

I think the players drop deep naturally and I bet Butler screams at them to get out.He probably needs to find a plan B to see games out in training.

I think we play better against the better teams, wouldn’t surprise me if we get something at Borehamwood and Home to FG.

It was 3-2 91st then 4-2 so from added time only a point.

I get that, but in front on 87 mins I’d expect a win.

Yep agree – could be added to the list. I just went on 90+ mins.

The equaliser at home to Braintree in the 87th minute was a sickener too.

Next 4 league games are going to be tough going…Boreham Wood, Forest Green, Southend and Carlisle!

Don’t get the 2 subs in the 92nd minute, does he really think it helping run the clock down to me it just adds to the pressure, and refs still add the time on and at times probably even more.
Losing points late on just like the Wilcox promotion year (maybe not as bad yet) his Morecambe game certainly cost us the title alone, never mind all the others going back to the Dagenham game when the rot set in.
    So frustrating.

Late late subs isn’t anything new. Clubs have been doing it since I can remember. Is it less the action and more the quality of replacement?

I think the root of the problem might be our inability to put games out of reach before the last 5-10 minutes. Whilst the lead is only one the opposition will always think they’ve a chance of getting something. (and they usually do!!)

the problem is we start to clear the ball anywhere which means it comes straight back. Up to the last 10 mins it was calmly passed out of defence, (esp by Horton) and we attack. For some reason gets to 80mins and we think the best form of defending is 10 men in the box! Though Butler was correct on the performance a point was fair it was the circumstances that make us feel bad. Players felt it too, which is good to see.

I agree it’s nothing new Deerey, doesn’t mean it’s a good idea though.

    Just watched the highlights.
Mahady clanger for their first goal. Horton clanger for their penalty.

‘Mahady clanger for their first goal.’

Watson would’ve saved it. In all seriousness, how could you tell? View’s obscured on the highlights.

Was told by someone there that it was a tame shot, Mahady missed it, ball hit the post rebounded onto his head and went in. The highlights and commentary seems to confirm this.
How did their player not score that one on the line earlier ? I think take the point and move on.

Very harsh on Mahady! Decent shot that he dived for and no fault of his that the ball hit the post and rebounded in off of him.

The player was George Thomas ! Anyone care to remember him when we had him on loan ? I prefer not to.

We got rid of no one.
Campbell’s gone nowhere well other than to be third choice goalie now 64 I wonder why, not as though anyone had flagged him up lol.
As for tuther one he was recalled by his club who loaned him to us.

Do you think if we do not score more AB starts to try and shut shop, but in some cases he has already made his subs which then don’t suit trying to do that ?

Watching EFL highlights the Bradford game the 1st goal they conceded Bradford had 6/7 players back which then left space for shots. In our games how many equalisers are from 20 – 30m yds out ? Clutter defences and who marks who starts to cause panic.

    Yes, quite possibly.

Awaywego – I think the point was, the noise was about ‘getting rid’, not what actually happened in the end.

George Thomas – yes – had high hopes for him but just didn’t get going at all.

Evidently Butler says the fans are nit picking with comments on conceding late on,, really.
Maybe he’ll put an extra tariff on the tickets lol. He’s every bit as petulant as a certain yellow haired orange face man from the good old US of A.
Wonder where he gets his info from? We know he doesn’t look on social media lol, the man’s a dick.

Tend to agree .. Mr Butler should IMO keep his gob shut or think a tad more before opening it to have a dig at fans who are only airing their opinion.

Yes hes AB is doing a great job at the moment but that doesnt mean we all should like him .. personally im not keen of his rather petulant manner but heyho up to him.

Fans are commenting on the number of points we have “lost” due to late/added time goals. This is fact, not conjecture or speculation but pure fact. How AB can expect fans not to comment on this repetitive occurance is very strange, surely he’s noticed. Describing fans comments as “nit picking” is, quite frankly, bizarre IMO.

To ‘awaywego’ is the yellow haired, orange faced man he is referring to Mr. Robbie savage who visits us this Saturday !?
As Savage is very petulant and moans alot about refs.
May mention to Savage, we had a team walk off the pitch never to return so lost a +3 goal difference and the blatant hand ball for Tamworth..

He moans about fans to Bhuna but unlike Butler he moans about opposition fans, 3 times now Butler’s had a dig at his own fans.
Ps. Deerey did you ever get the proof you needed to make a judgement call on the Carlisle/ Savage abuse saga.

He may have his faults but he’s not a dick. Completely out of order.

Even the great Brian Clough occasionally fell out with fans.
