Get out of jail card played.
October 11, 2025 at 5:34 pm #312199Fingers crossed for Home Park – you could all do with a weekend in the West Country. :)

October 11, 2025 at 5:46 pm #312200Bloody hell forgot it wasn’t regionalised.
October 11, 2025 at 5:53 pm #312201Perfect demonstration of how good we are with our first choice midfield and how poor we are when one or two of them are missing.

Yep Beestin and Ewing need tying down to longer contracts as the energy they bring is so good to see.
Can we have a whip-round for the pair.2nd half was night and day. Even when Carlton came on he showed Dawson exactly how it’s done. Holding up the ball nicely.
Send Beck out on loan until his contract expires.
Well done AB and realising/reacting to the poor first half. Excellent management.

October 11, 2025 at 6:22 pm #312204Not sure on that, he’s seen the NL cup games which hasn’t worked.
Needed a stronger line up from the start which I wanted in the first post.
But credit for not being stubborn and doing the big change at halftime, hopefully another lesson learned, and I can see he has learned overall and I am liking that.3 users thanked author for this post.
October 11, 2025 at 6:28 pm #312205October 11, 2025 at 6:30 pm #312206Great second half. From where I was Rory decided not to come for the cross (right decision he wouldn’t have got there). It was the gap between the back two that worried me. Also Scales struggles at full back at this level. Proper tale of two halves though. Don’t know why Bellahoun went off, hope he’s OK.

Some on other platforms are slating him for doing just that. We all read the game in our way but how can there be so much disparity over Watson’s actions? It doesn’t add up.

October 11, 2025 at 8:07 pm #312210Bloody Hell, anyone would think we’d lost.
So AB mixed it up a bit. Gave 2/3 players a rest, changed it second half and we ran in four goals.
Coins in the bank and in the hat for Monday. Don’t overthink it.

Iron v Cumbrians starting X1 ?
October 11, 2025 at 9:40 pm #312213It wasn’t just the introduction of the subs but also Roberts moving from the centre where he looked lost to his usual right where he scored and hit the bar twice.

October 12, 2025 at 11:38 am #312223Any localish team away please.
Blundell Park it is then!
Give over!! £45k for a first round win, Dog & Duck at home please.
October 12, 2025 at 12:19 pm #312224£45k for a first round win-that’s why we want the Cods away.
They still haven’t got over KVV’s celebration!October 12, 2025 at 1:14 pm #312225Nagh they’ve got their £24000 to help out.
The fa cup is not just about the club getting money in, it’s for the fans and their dreams, only seen us beat the cods at their place once but would take them every time.
Don’t forget the club could have earned £16000 in the NL cup if they’d showed the slightest bit of interest.1 user thanked author for this post.
October 12, 2025 at 1:36 pm #312229Missed yesterday due to travel mix up glad we got the result two more home games please then West Ham away
October 12, 2025 at 1:51 pm #312234Would prefer next 2 rounds at home and wins.
Need heads switched on from 1st whistle though. No experiments with starting line up or formation.

October 12, 2025 at 2:37 pm #312236…who do you want in the 4th round, another fed up fan?!
October 12, 2025 at 3:06 pm #31223880 balls.
Blackpool, Notts County, Gainsborough, Tamworth away.
1/20 chance of one of those being drawn.October 12, 2025 at 7:43 pm #312249I am thinking Spurs at home round four Bpg
October 12, 2025 at 8:06 pm #312252Butler promised he was playing a strong team, fooled the fans. The team he played would not have beaten Kings Lynn who looked more interested.
If it was Carlisle or another stronger team we could have been losing more than 2:0 and the game would have been beyond us.
The next round may be against a better opponent so play your best team. Like others have said we need the money.October 13, 2025 at 9:34 am #312254Was it a weaker team first half?
Or did they just need a kick up the arse?
October 13, 2025 at 9:57 am #312255‘Butler promised he was playing a strong team, fooled the fans’
In which interview did he promise that? Must have missed it.
Still ought to have been a starting 11 to deal with KL, but obviously a weaker team than usual in hindsight.
October 13, 2025 at 9:59 am #312256‘Was it a weaker team first half?’
Three changes at half time that made a big difference would suggest it was.
October 13, 2025 at 10:24 am #312257Some players can be rotated without noticably weakening the team (Denton/Horton, Boyce/JB, Howe/TSF) and some can’t.
October 13, 2025 at 10:54 am #3122583 of the one’s that can’t happen to play in midfield. The other one is called Roberts.
October 13, 2025 at 11:11 am #312259It was you who highlighted the interview in reply to me Deerey, strong/serious just the same. And he just didn’t take it serious or put a strong team out however you luck at it.
October 13, 2025 at 11:51 am #312260Serious isn’t the same as strong. Neither are luck and look.
There’s a big difference between saying you’re taking the opponents seriously and making 5 changes that didn’t ought to weaken the team.
That aside, I’m assuming Butler thought it was still strong. Hindsight is a wonderful thing.
