Quality of merchandise aside, I don’t think many were happy with the treatment Merch Labs received after their previous terrific support.
Completely agree. Shoddy.
April 29, 2025 at 2:29 pm #303699Are there any examples of a lower league or non league club selling tasteful or stylish merchandise? Not seen any myself.
Does that mean we should just willingly walk into the tat trap?
Want to see: Paul Weller.
Actually seeing: Timmy Mallet.April 29, 2025 at 2:31 pm #303700Is he on the WEEKENDER?
April 29, 2025 at 2:35 pm #303702If Paul Weller was on I would have my ticket already.

Actually seeing: Timmy Mallet.Just trying to make the point that no clubs that mainly rely on local catchment support have demonstrated they can make money from quality merchandise. We should perhaps not be surprised that the Iron haven’t bucked the trend.

How do you know?
April 29, 2025 at 2:49 pm #303707Let battle commence
Trust V Club more like.
Club choose to ignore the trust when wanting to talk with fans.
Trust choose clubs ex merchandisers.
This is the kind of comment that could have been foreseen and exactly why I wouldn’t have joined up like this

Would be delighted and suitably apologetic if someone proves me wrong.

If people are going to just buy stuff anyway (which they clearly are), why not make it good in the first place? Why not aim a bit higher, get a proper aesthetic vibe going rather than this low level hum.
April 29, 2025 at 3:33 pm #303714Is he on the WEEKENDER?
Timmy and Magic legends of kids TV in the nineties, he’s a painter now, think Magic disappeared in a puff of smoke, Pets Crematorium.
April 29, 2025 at 4:36 pm #303715Don’t mind a couple of designs but wouldn’t buy any myself. That said, proof will be in the sales I guess. Something more tasteful to me might sink like a stone!

You’re right. One man’s absolute tat is another man’s should know better.

One mans ceiling is another mans floor, Paul Simon wrote that.

April 29, 2025 at 7:24 pm #303731Whatever you say about the trust buying shares and that giving money to the club, in the trusts 12 years of existence up until the last accounts, I’m sure you’ll all agree 50 shares pales into insignificance.

Something along these lines or daft Laws / Adkins quotes?

April 29, 2025 at 8:35 pm #303738A t-shirt that incorporates the very old crest – as in the old retro tops?
April 29, 2025 at 8:43 pm #303740A badge like design that captures an old sponsor like Pleasure Island / Brikenden / Scunthorpe EZ etc that means something only to Iron supporters (i.e makes other fans inquisitive). Bit like this but not as ugly (.e. not a small shirt!)

That’s rubbish but the Subbuteo style one is great.
April 29, 2025 at 8:52 pm #303742Re-hash that well known Blur cartoon face design to include old Iron players like Cammack, O’Berg, Neenan, Duncan etc. Just singular as a badge on t-shirt.

I know, just riffing it. Fresh out of ideas for now anyway!
April 29, 2025 at 8:59 pm #303744That Subbuteo is actually class…
End of the day we want to give fans what they want, and frankly we don’t want to be remembered for tat hahaApril 29, 2025 at 9:20 pm #303746I’d definitely buy a ‘Look at the noise!’ t-shirt

Like all ‘quote’ t-shirts it’d be really important to get it absolutely right, or the idea falls somewhat flat. I’m pretty sure (having watched my tape of Wembley ’99 loads of times, though it’s now lost to time) that Mr Laws said “Just look at that noise”. Happy to stand corrected if someone else has the footage and wants to double-check.

April 30, 2025 at 1:15 pm #303755I think you’re right about the quote. And yes, along with needing to be correct, it would have to be presented well as a design piece / tasteful typeface etc.

April 30, 2025 at 7:55 pm #303775If Trust social comms are anything to go by merch seems to be flying out! I do like the history of shirts top as well

April 30, 2025 at 9:29 pm #303776It’s one that we had been working on and off for a while :)
The Subbuteo one is in progress, it’s a time-consuming one! So it might be a week or two1 user thanked author for this post.

No, end of the day we are working with the Trust to raise money for the club, and we believe if the fans want Merch they are most likely gonna buy via the Club or the Trust and 9 times out of 10 we produce items cheaper than the likes of Sellers on Etsy…
Thats why you will never see us do any of these two things:
1) Sell an identical product to the Club Shop.
2) Use the official current club badge (The Iron one not the 125)We are not here to take sales away from the club, but either way the money will end up in the clubs pocket.
After everything that has happened, we are still wanting to support the community, even if that’s via the Trust, Bru or even what we are doing in connection with the Weekender. The Club are a key aspect of the community and we all need to help support it in its journey to sustainability.
