Thank you for your post, I do feel that we both like to say things as they are, and not pussyfoit about.
I have no problem saying I was infuriated reading that anything that goes wrong at Scunthorpe is down to Dave Hilton, and anything that goes right is not mentioned… ever!
If you spent some time in his company you would actually find he is not a bad guy, he was hounded from the first minute at Scunthorpe for any changes he wanted to make.
He has been gone a fair while now, surely your forum can not keep blaming every negative aspect of Scunthorpe FC on him?… (Deeryme wets himself at the prospect)…. I met you and MK Iron, decent blokes, any many other fans as well, all loyal decent fans to Scunthorpe.
Regardless of my dummy out the pram remarks, I would be delighted if you got promoted, because of the great fans I have met, and I get no pleasure from explaining why you maybe won’t?… but I, like many others, can not understand why a massive club like Scunthorpe, gave so much respect to teams that will never ever progress further, by trying to not lose, instead of ATTACK, ATTACK,ATTACK, with the superior players you had, obviously it was the defensive mindset of the manager…. but I could not understand how it took so long for someone to pull him up?… you quite simply dropped alot of points first half of the season and should have won it by Xmas, my opinion of course, but what I believe to be the case.
We are all football fans, and all entitled to an opinion, and that should be accepted.

Hi – the 3 points deduction made no difference as we were already down.

However a few months ago there was a EGM for passing 75% of the club to private hands also a number of safe guards to protect the club. This was voted in by the season ticket holders (current owner as members club).

However we all got a e mail on Sunday saying deal is off its either pass 100% over or he walks and the board have say the fans will have to sort out a new board if we don’t vote yes !!! We gone until Friday to decide.

However the last vote (hand over 75%) was 65/16. Not sure how this one will go but all the board/committee are in favor and that’s a fair few votes.

As Matlock fans, you only need to look where his involvement has taken you thus far and have a serious think about his previous and this latest action to come to the only sensible conclusion. Vote ‘no’.

At our game on Saturday the team from 1975 are doing a pitch work with the fa trophy we finished top half in league(with the NPL feeding in to football league then) we were one of the best non league sides in the country (my family often remind me I wasn’t born !!).
Now we will not even be in the top 168 non league teams !!!!

Stick to your guns; You can see which way the wind is blowing already, expect more emotional blackmail and divisive tactics- it’s his MO.

Out of interest, are your supporters fully aware of his history? I can’t believe he’s been so willingly accepted.

I’m sure there will be plenty of folk within our club and supporter base that are willing to speak with you guys to allow an informed decision. Additionally Matt Slater from the Athletic and Kieran McGuire (Price of football) might be worth reaching out too
