He made National League team of the week too.
August 11, 2025 at 6:01 pm #309613For anyone who doesn’t know he made it into the National league team of the week.
August 11, 2025 at 6:08 pm #309615August 12, 2025 at 12:22 pm #309678I’ll find it amazing that despite the shaky appearances last season and dodgy pre season outings, if he somehow comes in to his own this season and makes team of the year.
That would just about sum football up.
August 12, 2025 at 12:39 pm #309680If he makes Team of the Year then play offs would be guaranteed and Championship a possibility.

August 12, 2025 at 2:12 pm #309689For anyone who wasn’t at the the game he flapped at a couple 1st half but went on to play OK.
I am delighted about that and hope he succeeds but he was a long way short of being the man of the match.
As for delivering the best goalkeeping performance in the league I’m not sure he had the best goalkeeping performance in the Tamworth game.

August 12, 2025 at 2:20 pm #309690Seen plenty of keepers flap at a couple of things then go on to have a decent enough game, it’s not a yardstick for me as to his overall ability. He’s a young keeper who’s been given a chance to nail down the position of number one at his club and he needs all the encouragement we can give him, all I’ve ever said is back the lad and give him a chance and it sounds like the travelling Iron support got behind him last Saturday which is brilliant to hear, long may it continue.

Careful MK, you’ll have Fansy back on here soon trying to argue with us who were actually at the game that this “flapping” you speak of was completely fabricated.
The lad made a decent enough save at the end but to get in the NL team of the week is pretty baffling.

August 12, 2025 at 4:28 pm #309705Fansy is providing the inverse of those who went into hyperbolic criticism. It is just one game, he did make errors, but that is not unsurprising given his lack of experience. He wasn’t the disaster some forecasted though and let’s hope he continues not to be.

August 12, 2025 at 4:48 pm #309708For those who are miffed that he made NL Team of the Week: I assume you saw the other keeper’s performances to make a reasoned judgement?
August 12, 2025 at 5:00 pm #309717To say the least BLT.
The lad did make one more good save a second or two before their goal and not his fault they went on to score, but that was it.
So 2 flaps and 2 saves with the one save at the end that got him in team of the week according to the report from the National league, I kinda get that especially in the context of things last seconds of 11 mins of stoppage time keeps the teams 3 points instead of 1 and on his league debut, not that should have been taken into account mind.
Out of the 11 games and reports that are put in it was probably the stand out moment from them all, I’ll take that all day long and certainly made the journey home a lot better, hope he plays tonight he needs as many games under his belt as possible. -
