Groundhog Day
September 13, 2025 at 5:31 pm #311182I knew they would score as soon beck came on. We should have put somebody else up front with a bit of speed, he cannot keep with the play, he just wonders about, bit like Kane but at least Kane scores.
As soon as Beck came on for Whall i said to my chambermaid to put extra tissues on my bed side cabinet as i knew FG would nick a goal .. why not put Fadera on OH SORRY i mean Dawson or i mean Chadwick or i mean anyone as Beck was waste of space like a lolloping lost elephant…
Ubo to blame with is crazy giveaway pass .. trying to get in the starting line up my arse after a terrible miss then that pass he should be cleaning the team bus in the morning.
September 13, 2025 at 5:39 pm #311185I don’t see any value in Beck being in the squad, offers nothing and has an aversion to jumping. He’s not what we need in the squad.

September 13, 2025 at 5:50 pm #311187Didn’t sound like the conceded goal was any way Beck’s fault but I admit to emitting an eyeore style ‘oh dear’ when I heard he was coming on for Whitehall
September 13, 2025 at 5:51 pm #311188Only player today to come out without credit. Eze had his best minutes in a competitive game. Nothing too clever but worked hard and put himself about a bit.
Carlton missed a couple of sitters but got in the positions and worked hard as he always does. What Beck has to offer does not contribute anything to the way Butler now has us playing. Not much chance of anyone offering to take him off our hands though.

September 13, 2025 at 7:01 pm #311197Re: Beck. Have to agree…he just doesn’t get anywhere near anything and offers virtually nothing. To think we paid actual money for him as well.
Speaking to a FG fan after the game, he was ecstatic with the result, said we had the game won…clearly wasn’t aware of our nasty habit of conceding late goals from high balls into the box!
September 13, 2025 at 7:01 pm #311198If we’d gone behind in the second minute then fought back to earn a point deep into injury time everyone would have been delighted but this does feel like a defeat.
Having said that I’d have taken a draw at 2:55pm. Still undefeated, still in a playoff spot, still two games in hand on most teams.
Let’s hope we can learn from the first month of the season

September 13, 2025 at 11:00 pm #311203Had it on the radio and F.Green commentators thought the game was done- absolute sucker punch and certainly feels like a loss.
Unfortunately we do look weaker with the subs atm, Carlton had a good spell towards the end of the season but him & Beck just seem to leave us in a weaker position. Gutted for Rory aswell, sounded like he had a good game overall.
There’s a case to be made we should have won every game thus far which was unimaginable pre season- things to work on but the foundations look solid.

The essence of being a football supporter.

September 14, 2025 at 1:07 pm #311228Will Forest green be taken to task by relevant authorities for the political statement they made on their electronic advertising boards, (photo on tuther side)

September 14, 2025 at 2:09 pm #311231It’s an interesting one. Free speech would say Vince should be able to do it, but the FA have historically taken a dim view of such matters. I believe Calvo-Garcia got fined for his shirt with a Basque flag that he revealed after scoring at Wembley in 1999. This was more brazen.
September 14, 2025 at 2:22 pm #311232It’s certainly upset many alpha males and free speech warriors.
September 15, 2025 at 6:48 pm #311271I’ve just read the match report on the FGR website. Savage made subs on 45 (2), 58,72 and 81. I thought there were only 3 “opportunities” to make substitutions, didn’t we play a man short recently for a short time because we’d used our 3?
Sods Law – the bloke that came on fourth scored the equaliser.
Can any rules expert clarify please.September 15, 2025 at 7:25 pm #311273i don’t think half time subs count towards your 3

September 15, 2025 at 7:30 pm #311274Its not that the FA have taken a dim view of it, its against their rules and up to now they have applied them.
September 15, 2025 at 8:05 pm #311276Wasn’t aware they’d cracked down on dodgy substitutions.
September 15, 2025 at 8:40 pm #311277It’s against the rules because the FA have taken a dim view of it…
September 15, 2025 at 10:50 pm #311281Each team is allowed 3 opportunities during play to make substitutions. Half time does not count towards the 3 opportunities. If extra time is played in a game a sixth substitute is allowed! Teams are also permitted a concussion substitute ( a 7th in an extra time game) but the opposition are permitted a further substitute to square things up.
