Went to get my live footy fix last night in the TPL
Nong Bua Pitchaya fc v Parchup Kiri Kan fcNBP just above the relegation zone ran out 1-0 winners over 4th placed PKK in a very entertaining end to end game. Att 1300… only 2 stands , one huge one and opposite ultra drumming and singing folks… some highlights via true visions tv on the link below… 5 QUID TO GET IN BEST SEATS.
Abo Eisa was on the bench for NBP but not used.Great pitch considering the weather here.
Heres the NBP FB page .. and yes VAR is used
https://www.facebook.com/nongbuapitchayafcofficial/?locale=th_TH
I found myself comparing the TPL to EFL and would put id around L2 NL standard apart from almost anual champions Buriram united who are a step above most others .. saying that more in rhe fray at the top this season.

January 12, 2025 at 7:49 pm #297033Hercules (Alicante) – playing in equivalent of L1 in England.
Bubblegum football today.
A 5-1 thrashing of the team in second place.January 13, 2025 at 2:31 am #297042I am proud that the Thai League has high standards at the ASEAN level.
It is very difficult to have a football team here that can survive on its own.
If it weren’t for a businessman who loves football very much like Mr. Wirachat Sathitraipop, owner of the Krung Thonburi FC team that has now disbanded.
Most of them are local influential people, who are often local politicians, as owners.
But personally, I think Scunthorpe could easily be in the Thai League if you look at the quality of the team.
But as they say, the club’s finances determine its success.
There are many football fans who are crazy about football, but there are not many fans who can afford to pay for the tickets. There are not many who can expect sponsors in Thailand.
The money from the team owner is the most important.1 user thanked author for this post.

The money from the team owner is the most important. The Standard of Thai football is has improved massively and still is evolving.. in my younger days i used to watch Chonburi FC who at the time were the front runners that mantle has passed to Buriram United but there are quite a few others of similar stature now.
NB Pitchaya FC have a hard core of 1500 fans and did get 3000 for the Buriram fixture , very passionate and a nice atmosphere saying that very different to attending an EPL game. but as you say even at 80 – 200 bt to get in (2 to 5 quid) its out the reach of many especially for clubs outside of Bkk.
The clubs do have sponsors but in the main totally controlled by the owner.
Me and my son attend as many games as poss here but must admit to missing watching Scunny whatever league they are in as they are and always will be my only team.
UTI and NBP FC

January 19, 2025 at 9:12 am #297385Real Murcia 1-0 Hercules
Att: 23,000 (4,000 Herculeans)Quite a few Murcians were ejected from the stadium due to their naughtiness… lol.
There were a number of pre-game fracas in the city.We now occupy the last play off place (5th) whilst they go 2nd.
January 20, 2025 at 11:08 pm #297584Hi all,
Just wanted to say a quick hello and introduce myself. Been an Iron supporter for 30+ years, from Australia. I wasn’t sure where else to say hi, so please forgive me if this isn’t the right spot.
In the olden days I used to read the classified section of the local paper to go through all the league results.. at best I had to do my own version of the BBC’s ‘Oxford Unites onnnnnneeeee, Scunthorpe United TWO.’
Then pay tv came along, and every couple of years I was able to get up at 2am and watch the Iron play Hull (that was epic) live on telly. Good times.
I have a small shrine to Championship Manager Steve Housham, believe Peter Beagrie had fantastic hair, and that Gary Hooper would have made a better president than Donald Trump.
When Andy Keogh moved to Perth Glory I almost became a Glory supporter, but that made no sense at all. They suck.
Anyway, hi.4 users thanked author for this post.
January 20, 2025 at 11:14 pm #297587Welcome. What brought you to support the Iron? Out of interest Have you managed to make it across to the UK to see a game in person? Was Trent McLenahan criminally underused?

January 20, 2025 at 11:28 pm #297589Thanks for the kind welcome. Firstly, I OWN Trent McLenehan’s ACTUAL playing shirt from his time with the Iron. I keep thinking one day he is going to see me at the supermarket rifling through damaged apples wearing his curry-stained shirt and thongs. I think it’s what he would have wanted. So yes, I think he deserved better. I wonder how many other Scunthorpe players have competed at the Olympics?
Secondly, I did the working holiday thing in 2007/08, so was able to see about half a dozen games in person. Many highlights, but an away day at MK Dons and seeing a ridiculous stadium built in an ASDA car park was definitely a memory. Ian Morris and Gary Thompson both scored in the second half, quietening all three of the home fans. The weird dog kept barking though.
My origin story though is probably not very unique. My parent drove from Edinburgh to London in 1974 and my Dad told me all the places they went along the way. Then I started playing CM and CM2 in the early 90s and wanted to choose a lower league team.. Scunthorpe United jumped out at me for some reason (maybe the awesome colours) and the rest is history.

January 26, 2025 at 6:58 pm #2980081,060km round trip (stadium to stadium).
10 1/2 – 11 hours driving.Marbella 1-2 Hercules
February 2, 2025 at 1:29 pm #298350February 3, 2025 at 5:50 pm #298373Hercules 2-2 Yeclano
A disappointing draw.
0-1 down at half time.
A Nico Espinosa brace put us 2-1 up… but with just 2 minutes of the 90 to go – they equalised
6 minutes of ‘injury’ time – but it finished 2-2.March 22, 2025 at 6:34 pm #300177The Ultras made the trip to the continent of Africa today.
Ceuta is an autonomous (Spanish) city on the North African coast, bordered by Morocco.
Ceuta 1-1 Hercules
They equalised in the 95th minute.
Hell of a journey.May 5, 2025 at 1:04 pm #304066A 900km round trip saw us piped 4-3 last night.
We are currently 10th of 20 teams and need 1 point from our last 3 games to guarantee football at the same level (equivalent to EFL L1) next season.
May 17, 2025 at 8:28 pm #304563Lost 0-1 away today in the Alicante derby.
It’s looking as if we will probably finish 10th of 20.
Consolidation following last seasons promotion.
Job done.June 27, 2025 at 8:41 pm #306160June 28, 2025 at 3:12 pm #306162sad news as my local Thai club for live footy Nong Bus Pitchaya FC are looking at expulsion from Thai league 2 due to late and non payments of players during their relegation from the TPL last season which saw Ebo Eisa come n go like a fart in the wind and he has since moved and playing in Bolivia according to my Thai buddy so it may be Belarus or another place beginning with B.
Either way a 10 million baht fine (200,000 quid) must be paid and a ban on signings so im guessing its curtains for the pink chickens as the owner has done a WHAM and pulled all his funding.July 5, 2025 at 10:16 am #306479July 28, 2025 at 11:17 am #307693Unfortunately Deportiva Ceuta Fútbol Club were promoted to the Segunda (equivalent Championship) at the end of last season. We will be playing in Primera RFEF 1 (equivalent L1) again this year.
However, if we end up in the same league in 26/27, then this’ll make for an interesting journey to an away game… lol.
620km from Alicante to Algeciras. (London – Edinburgh 650km)A Spanish league game on the African continent.
August 31, 2025 at 3:32 pm #310649It’s a sad day when your favourite player moves on.
Javi Moreno, age 28, now plying his trade in the Armenian Premier League.
He’s a CR10 type player – and has scored some worldies.Spanish rules (at our level) dictate that a club can only have 18 senior players on their books.
The signing of a couple of La Liaga players with 100 plus games each means that Javi has been squeezed out.I suppose the squad is being ‘upgraded’ in an attempt to gain promotion to La Liga 2 (formerly known as Secunda division).
He’s played four times for his new club scoring once.
He doesn’t look very happy playing for his new club. His smile is most certainly missing.
A sad(?) Javi Moreno scoring for his new club.
Well missed. Great player.
I believe his agents are AS1 Sports in London.
Scunny may be too cold for him… lol
September 1, 2025 at 10:07 am #310662Colder than Armenia?
“Armenia has a highland continental climate, characterized by hot, dry summers and cold, snowy winters, though temperatures and precipitation vary significantly with elevation and region. The climate can range from cold desert and steppe in lower areas to humid continental and even tundra at high altitudes, with the mountainous regions experiencing colder conditions and more snow.”
September 1, 2025 at 12:31 pm #310663Let’s get him in then ;-)
I wonder what the top team in the Armenian Premier League are paying him a week?
September 1, 2025 at 1:13 pm #310665It appears the top clubs pay between £2,000 to £3,000 a week.
September 1, 2025 at 6:44 pm #310683Retirement, prayer meetings, landslide and also flooding has somewhat curtailed my arrangements to watch relegated Nong Bua Fc these season suffice to say Abo Eisa has moved on and after failed trails in Boliva he is now on the books of Chonburi Fc notoriously close to sin city Pattaya .. i might add my son played for CFC juniors but all to soon discovered to the temptations of a young Thai lassy n a can of Chang ..hes 25 now n had a great night at a pool comp this eve ..
live footy here is pretty dire ,, at NBP we sit with expat fans from Leeds , Stoke and Southend an even a Codhead though hes not allowed in the VIP section as hes smells of fish .
September 3, 2025 at 3:15 pm #310791Talking of comparisons, not took long for Carlisle to realize that allotting 1750 seats to away fans is not a good idea when in the first 4 games the best away support has been 59, they have now moved them to the open end that as been shut for a number of years.
Unlike us who have not, nothing worse than a having virtually empty stand I’m sure our players would rather have fans behind the goal to kick into, ours or others would matter not.
The optics look shit on the photos.September 3, 2025 at 4:29 pm #310795There is absolutely no comparison between the waterworks end at Brunton Park and any part of GP!
