On Gareth’s phone
August 19, 2025 at 3:32 pm #310073Supporters complaining about Bru’s reasonable questions should remember who helped stopped the club going to the wall during Hilton’s reign and who started and drove the fundraising campaign to pay players wages.
August 21, 2025 at 4:38 pm #310120Club say here they are hoping to stream the forum from the club YouTube channel at 7pm tonight:

Awkward questions first?August 21, 2025 at 7:12 pm #310131August 21, 2025 at 7:43 pm #310132They really aren’t happy that the FC100,000 gimmick got hindered.

August 21, 2025 at 7:46 pm #310133If it was that good why has no other club snapped their hands off?

August 21, 2025 at 7:54 pm #310134Nice of Eric Cantona to turn up.
August 21, 2025 at 8:10 pm #310137I appreciate everything they are doing for the club and I’m sure it’s not easy by any stretch and mistakes will be made, I just wish they’d hold their hands up over FC100k and the Weekender and admit they were mistakes too. Still don’t get this position that they didn’t have time to consult the fans on FC100k due to social media and the company’s announcement. Hey ho, we are where we are. At least it was covered.
August 21, 2025 at 8:10 pm #310138They don’t seem to understand that just being associated with it, for fans it was a total no no, when all they saw was the money, money money.
Can still see that resentment still showing through especially towards the trust, we wanted something and you stopped us and we’ll do the same to your share saver.
Even the fact they said with the next kit they’d consult with the ‘voice of the fans group’ wtf.August 21, 2025 at 8:12 pm #310139Reasonable questioning does not mean we are not behind you. As for Board division, I don’t think the majority know or care to know if if exists or not.
August 21, 2025 at 8:15 pm #310140Some of the answers have been too defensive. Too readily to see tough questions as attacks, rather than fans wanting transparency. Most would be behind them after saving the club, but they need to accept fans won’t like some aspects like FC100,000 and want to be reassured over things like a CCJ.
August 21, 2025 at 8:17 pm #310141At least we know everyone is together good and bad and no reason to put Roj and Michelle alone on that pedestal anymore.
Shan’t listen to the second half I’ll spend sometime with wifey, owt interesting let us know.August 21, 2025 at 8:31 pm #310142What wound me up with their answers to the FC100k fiasco was the insistence on there being zero risk to the club. FC100k was literally announced with the tagline “WE’RE BUYING A FOOTBALL CLUB” with the goal to get 50% ownership plus 1 golden share in order to have a majority shareholding of the club. In what world is giving up overall control of the club to a bunch of charlatans zero risk? Or am I missing something here?
August 21, 2025 at 9:10 pm #310143I think Sharp said one of the issues was their launch and how it wasn’t what was discussed. I assume that was one aspect of it that didn’t correlate with what they had discussed.
August 21, 2025 at 9:24 pm #310144Overall, I think it was a good session and I think it would benefit everyone, and all parties, to schedule regular forums in the future. I think all the tough questions were asked. In the second half Roj seemed to admit mistakes were made over FC100k and Weekender. Sharp seemed to disagree and get defensive again. Fair enough. At least they’re being honest about their takes on it. More than supporters of many other clubs get. Appreciate them putting themselves in the headlights and fielding the questions, which they didn’t have to do.

August 21, 2025 at 9:41 pm #310145Roj’s digression was his sardines following the trawler moment, wasn’t it? I enjoyed it.

August 21, 2025 at 9:45 pm #310146It was positive that it was streamed and everyone can see it who wishes. It was pleasing that the Board agreed to it and they may learn from the experience. We all have the club’s interest at heart even when we ask the tough questions.

August 21, 2025 at 9:47 pm #310147Lest we forget, the 2023 fans forum was fantasy island.
A new training ground site identified, academy remaining in place for 23/24, land acquired on Glebe Road, new stadium, £2 million set aside, blah blah blah. This 2025 forum was a refreshing change.

August 21, 2025 at 10:05 pm #310149‘We all have the club’s interest at heart even when we ask the tough questions.’
Totally. That’s why I was pleased they covered the loans subject and Michelle said those who made them are going to expect them paid back at some point. That’s exactly why we have a vested interest in the decisions being made, good or bad. Because at some point it will be the club needing to pay them back.
August 21, 2025 at 11:06 pm #310153It was good to have some communication from the board to the fans, with it being platformed on youtube, so everyone can have their queries answered. I still have my wonders about FC100,000, but it was good to hear everything else of relevance discussed and made clear. Hopefully the board has learned from mistakes and can see that this sort of transparency is what helps calm nerves of fans and prevents any kind of social media blowout. At least from the majority.
Also, well done to Barra for being a good host. Made sure as many questions as possible were answered, regardless of how tough they were, and keeping it so that people in the room and online questions were given equal footing.

August 22, 2025 at 10:19 am #310168Cant remember who said about ‘The noise’ but obviously it’s still getting to them, the thing is their hearing and seeing it but not really addressing it other than the fc100,000 and that was only because they got found out and had to capitulate, was there any mention of the trust or the share save in the second half.
August 22, 2025 at 10:37 am #310170Yep, basically the proposed £100k worth of ring fenced shares would have come out of Michelle’s personal holding, taking her below the percentage needed to have overall say on the board, so she declined (or something to that matter anyway). However she did go on to say they were in talks yesterday about renegotiating down to £25k worth of shares potentially being available.
Also, I’d like to know who was the genius that decided paying an £800 A MONTH subscription for a bloody washing machine was a good idea!?

August 22, 2025 at 10:44 am #310172Full recording is on Spotify now as well as on YouTube.
The Spotify link helpfully gives chapter headings so you can go direct to topics that interest you most. Nevertheless it is worth watching on YouTube if you can spare the time.
August 22, 2025 at 11:16 am #310173I watched last night and thought it was pretty good, pretty revealing. I didn’t think anyone other than Butler and Roj showed themselves in an especially sparkling light (not that the others were particularly bad). Roj’s enthusiasm was great to see and his metaphors were a great way to try and reinforce his message – he’s a big positive around the administration of the Club. Butler seemed quite emotional at one point when discussing how far the Club has come in the last couple of years, which was quite touching. I thought Michelle seemed slightly defensive, perhaps awkward and certainly annoyed (particularly if and when Matt Blanchard was mentioned). CEO Roberts seemed a bit slick, George seemed almost out of his depth trying to string more than a couple of sentences together, and Sharp showed signs of frustration with the FC100K and Weekender things. However, I believe he was right – they may have been handled in ways you could describe as mistakes, but spin that and they become opportunities to learn, and get things right next time.
August 22, 2025 at 11:41 am #310174It was a little disappointing to hear / see the increasing sighs and niggles every time Barra said, ‘and another question from Matt Blanchard’. Don’t get me wrong, I thought Barra did an excellent job hosting, but at times it did feel like setting skittles up. I’m not sure why the withering from some of the Board for perfectly reasonable questions, but there you go.

I got the impression it’s a Hilton legacy?

I’m sure Michelle said it goes back much further than that.
August 22, 2025 at 12:31 pm #310178Two opportunities to get things right and learn when dealing with the companies they had on board, that being after the treatment of the goat on community day, and they didn’t both with merch labs and the little cup cake both tret appalling.
It’s alright talking the talk but they need to walk the walk as well.August 22, 2025 at 1:03 pm #310179Roberts explained the business decision making process behind Merch Labs and Little Cup Cake. He didn’t get drawn on communications between the club and those two. From what I understand, it’s the way it was communicated that they are most displeased about, along with the contract / arrangements. If the Board are learning from mistakes, perhaps something to pick up on?
