Nightmare. Best wishes to both players and hopefully they recover swiftly. Fingers crossed for both of them. Seems a very serious medical incident.

September 2, 2025 at 11:04 pm #310765Relief to hear that Jean is recovering and Archie Harris is conscious and responsive in hospital. Hope they both make a full recovery.

September 2, 2025 at 11:36 pm #310766BBC Sport now saying match suspended and result removed from the league table.
Final score or what?
September 3, 2025 at 7:03 am #310768If common sense prevailed you’d imagine both teams would settle on a point, however with it being abandoned I’m
Not sure if the protocol is a replay.Looks like both players are up and talking, fingers crossed it’s nothing more serious than a sore head for a few days.

September 3, 2025 at 7:47 am #310771It would make sense to call it a draw but the National League doesn’t do common sense, so fully expecting to have to replay it.
Aside from the fact it’s going to cost the club financially for another overnight stay, I wouldn’t be too disappointed. They were pretty poor and we should have seen it out. I’d fancy us for three points if we were full strength when we went back.
On another note, relieved both players are seemingly on the mend. I haven’t had the benefit of a replay, nor do I want to see one, but I was of a similar opinion to Andy as it happened in real time.
September 3, 2025 at 8:36 am #310772It was a very uneasy watch on DAZN. I think they and Ollie and Torps on Humberside dealt with the situation well.
Regarding the match, thought we deserved the win based on the second half endeavours so it was frustrating to see Eastleigh get one back so soon after creating very little. Our goal seemed to ignite them in to stepping up a gear. Another goal under increased pressure. We need to start converting more of these chances we’re creating. Can’t knock the performance levels and some neat front foot play though. Much better watch than previous seasons.

September 3, 2025 at 8:42 am #310773I feel even more sorry for Belehouan after having now seen his skills in action a time or two.
He looks like an addition to the squad who really is an upgrade from Max.
Let us hope that he’s back in weeks not months and with the same excellent attitudes.2 users thanked author for this post.
September 3, 2025 at 8:49 am #310774It has all made me turn my mind to Ross. Anyone got an update on his progress? Unless I missed it, last one was a fair while back.
September 3, 2025 at 8:50 am #310775Any opinions on Rory’s performance last night anyone?
September 3, 2025 at 8:52 am #310776I too was impressed by JB, the first time I’ve seen more than a few minutes. Chadwick less so (much less). I’ve not seen a replay of the incident and, like SST, I’m not sure I want too, however my impression at the time was that the Eastleigh player made little or no attempt to play the ball and it was a red card offence. (maybe I’m biased?) Any thoughts?

September 3, 2025 at 9:09 am #310777In real time I thought it was a horrific challenge but a few mates that have seen it back said he had eyes for the ball.

September 3, 2025 at 9:14 am #310778Agree with Cass, JB won the header and their player came steaming into him. Very fine margins but was definitely late and would have been a foul in our favour. Very glad to hear that both players seem to be on the mend as the scene after the clash was quite disturbing and like nothing I’ve seen on a football pitch before.
JB was excellent at right back, Ewing is on another level compared to the rest. Thought Watson played well. ANOTHER goal conceded from a cross into the back post…definitely needs sorting out pronto (pretty sure that every goal we’ve conceded in the league this season has been from a high ball into the box).

September 3, 2025 at 9:26 am #310779Would imagine the game will be replayed if nothing else to be consistent, they made Buxton replay the match with us when 2-1 up with 96 mins played.
Someone else has said though the NL don’t do common sense.September 3, 2025 at 10:07 am #310780Agree with Cass and SST. Watching the stream I said straight away red card. Not suggesting it was deliberate but was late and looked reckless.
Of course the ball was coming over the Eastliegh lads shoulder so could well have had eyes behind him. People that saw it live will have a much better idea if it was a total accident.
None of which matters now just thankful both seem relatively unscathed.
JB won’t forget his full debut. Played very well.
September 3, 2025 at 10:09 am #310781Jean had a good game. Assured and some intelligent play and passing. Rory had a solid game with little to do. Ewing bossed the centre. Subs were impactful. Just need to find their shooting boots and address these unnecessary goals. Very encouraging.

September 3, 2025 at 10:11 am #310782It happened so quick on the stream I didn’t catch the moment of impact myself
September 3, 2025 at 10:14 am #310783Did that dickhead Scunny fan on X delete his account and remove those disgraceful comments about the incident? Hope so. He rightly got slated from all sides for totally inappropriate and embarrassing remarks. Always one isn’t there.
September 3, 2025 at 10:48 am #310784Didn’t see the incident thank goodness by the sound of things. JB appears to have come out of it reasonably well out of the two of them, hope the other lad is feeling better this morning. Both players will be missing several games under the concussion protocol and it’s down to daily monitoring by the medical team and they will determine the stages of recovery through rest, light exercise/ training and eventually full contact training before a return is considered. No two players respond the same so it’s a waiting game but hopefully both will come through it ok however long it takes.

September 3, 2025 at 1:04 pm #310787I’ve seen a slo mo and it was just an unfortunate footballing incident in my opinion.
JB was pretty static in the RB position whereas their lad had to make ground at speed to challenge for the ball.
He was marginally late but it was there to be won and it was a genuine attempt to win the ball – he was looking at the ball at all times and he didn’t lead with his arm – ironically had he done he’d have probably been ok but as it was he took as much of the impact as JB did.
It was a free kick because he was second to the ball and his momentum took him into JB but that was the extent of it.
It just looked very unfortunate.

September 4, 2025 at 4:26 pm #310818Poor defending again for their equaliser.
No challenge on the crosser.
Backing off, backing off.
Easy cross.
Beaten easily at the back post.
Our lad in middle stopped as if he thought the ball had gone out of play.
He’s then out of the game, (having to restart his engine) which gives their boy the opportunity for an easy goal.
Another of their players unmarked & untracked following up and entering the 6 yard area.Shabby defending again.
September 4, 2025 at 4:29 pm #310819We made one mistake like at Brackley and got punished Rene
September 4, 2025 at 5:39 pm #310821I hope a pattern isn’t emerging. Opposition concede late on, step up a gear and we go to pieces at a crucial juncture.

September 4, 2025 at 6:15 pm #310822Think the pattern has already well and truly emerged, every goal we’ve conceded this season in the league has been from a high ball (cross or throw) into the box…with the majority being to the back post.

September 4, 2025 at 8:06 pm #310826We made one mistake like at Brackley and got punished Rene
It’s happening every game, more or less.
Campbell was initially the scapegoat – but, I think all have now seen and realised that it’s those in front of him (& Watson) who are the culprits.
If they (AB & JS) don’t sort it, we’ll be shipping at least a goal a game.
We could be in trouble against the better teams.
Can we win games 3-2; 4-3; maybe even 5-4 if the shoddy defending persists?
It’s gunna be tough.September 17, 2025 at 10:30 pm #311325Rearranged for 21 Oct
