Would have been a loser !! 90 mins 1-1.
May 18, 2025 at 7:53 pm #304602No boos or abuse but I thought Chester were the better footballing side.
BUT – it’s the result that counts. Well done boys UTI.May 18, 2025 at 8:01 pm #304603No boos or abuse but I thought Chester were the better footballing side.
BUT – it’s the result that counts. Well done boys UTI.Scrappy as hell, and a few undeserved yellows stunted the rhythm a bit. I might disagree with you, they looked to break up play by throwing themselves to the floor a lot, especially off the ball (I watched on TV so maybe not so obvious at Glanford). Not a classic, and noone really wanted to put their foot on the ball, but yes, it was the result that mattered. My old man was there, so made up for him. UTFI
May 18, 2025 at 8:07 pm #304605Chester were the better team but I couldn’t give a flying monkeys!! Get the f**k in there!!! UTI
Apart from the stupid hand ball Will Evans was a man mountain for us and MOTM by a country mile. Carlton now a cult hero…his end to the season has been incredible considering how bad his start was!

BUT – it’s the result that counts. Well done boys UTI.Certainly NOT in the first half. Second half we allowed them to play and they looked better. All their threats seemed to come from set plays but they were unable to convert any of their many corners and free kicks. Better footballing side? Not for me on today’s showing. Better after half time? Definitely!
May 18, 2025 at 8:25 pm #304607May 18, 2025 at 8:27 pm #304608Well done to the all at SUFC.
Chester didn’t look great in it first half but very different second half.
Daft penalty by Evans to concede but he was immense today bar that. What was the attendance btw?

May 18, 2025 at 8:36 pm #304610They didn’t turn up first half they were poor but hung in there.
Then for the next hour besides Danny’s free kick and carlton miss we didn’t turn up, goals change games and once we scored again thought we saw it out well.
Got to be one of the worst refs and officials we’ve seen this season, thought for the final it would be the leagues best but hey ho didn’t matter in the end.
Actually played 24 mins of extra time.
Off on mi hols now 9,08 train to manchester airport staying up all night for 5,55 flight would have been a bummer it we’d lost but we didn’t.
Grandsons first success one bin going for 11 years tuther 8 glad for them they are the future. Anyway up the iron.5 users thanked author for this post.
May 19, 2025 at 2:02 am #304627Very lucky with the first goal if the stewards weren’t so thick the game would have been stopped for medical assistance a minute before we scored, (someone fell ill in the Dre) what a waste of money they turned out to be, did sod all then and sod all when fans encroached on the edge of the pitch total waste of space.
Nice to see fans trying to sort the numptys on the edge of the pitch a few of them got lumped and rightly so, took Roberts in the end to tell them to f off.May 19, 2025 at 4:33 am #304630Fortress GP gives us the edge.
Iron 1-1 Seals without Roberts. Goes to pens.
Ok, so it didn’t go to pens.

I’ve looked everywhere and can’t find the attendance. It’s not even on the OWS!
May 19, 2025 at 5:57 am #304638That niggled me!
May 19, 2025 at 6:12 am #304642sorry but Chester were no footballing side, never mind better. Their whole aim were to disrupt our rhythm or get us down to 10. The winger jumped with his arms up ready to dive. Credit to them if they went toe to toe they lose easily, again. Sadly ref was useless and allowed them to ruin the game. Fitz never made a save worthy of an applause. When we could we looked dangerous, did miss Roberts calmness, esp on the break towards the end. Credit to AB and the team we have learnt how to beat these disruptive teams. Win 100% deserved

There were some absolute pricks in the DRE yesterday.

The attendance will be announced today.
Both clubs will have to send their match reports to the NL who will then archive the fixture and ratify the information. It’s because it’s a fixture ‘hosted’ by the NL (even though it was played at GP) and not one of the two clubs involved.
May 19, 2025 at 1:50 pm #304719Attendance was 9080
A great attendance and another NLN record.May 19, 2025 at 1:54 pm #304720“(someone fell ill in the Dre)” was he a player ?
May 19, 2025 at 2:09 pm #304722The most nerve-racking game. It would have been great to be there in person, but I am too far away, and that beer at the bar at least helped somewhat with the tension.
May 19, 2025 at 2:14 pm #304725Attendance was posted just over an hour ago and was 9086.

May 19, 2025 at 5:11 pm #304755Twas some old codger 64,had sympathy for him yesterday till I saw his daughter posted he’s passed out before, put him in the seats luv not in the crush of the Dre, she was moaning that people wouldn’t move enough for him to get some air, it was bloody packed luv!
To me he was lucky in the end he didn’t get trampled on when Danny scored.
Hopefully it’s a lesson learned for them.May 19, 2025 at 5:24 pm #304758‘‘Twas some old codger 64.
Bloody Hell, if you’re an old codger at 64 you can call me Methuselah!

May 19, 2025 at 11:03 pm #304822Would stick yesterday up there with the all time great days following this club.
Could relive listening to that roar when Carlton scored over, and over again.

May 20, 2025 at 9:57 am #304844Great day Sunday just the atmosphere in and around the ground should bring a few extra folks back next season hopefully my old legs hold up for another few seasons.
Going to enjoy this summer and look forward to next seasonMay 20, 2025 at 10:15 am #304845I loved the “Roberts again….” chant when he got the morons back over the wall near the end.

One of those lovely SUFC moments that would mean nothing to anyone outside of the Club. Similarly the footage doing the rounds of Danny Whitehall playing the drum in the crowd – quite possibly the best SUFC footage I’ve ever seen. What a wonderful moment.
May 20, 2025 at 10:50 am #304850Robert’s and Whitehall feeling the love!
Would that perhaps tempt them to stay?

It could also tempt them to move on. What a moment to experience and a high to leave on.

No it’s money that will tempt them to stay, we can’t stay in this surreal moment forever reality and the numbers game will kick in very soon
