McCall – Sorted the defence out, got us winning games. One of the worst decisions we’ve ever made to sack him. YES
100%. Still in my eyes the largest contributor to the position we now find ourselves in. Swanny may have still pulled the plug if we remained in League 1 but the sacking of McCall definitely kick started our drastic slide down the divisions.

May 14, 2024 at 1:20 pm #285779Lol Cox a yes, probably the worst manager we’ve ever had. Only my opinion mind sure I’ll be corrected along the line. Argh Harrogate those were the days.

May 20, 2024 at 11:17 am #285998Worst manager? We’ve looked at this before.
Cox, Rooks and Bradley fighting for the honour. In fairness though, all three were badly lacking in proper resources.May 20, 2024 at 11:35 am #285999Kieth Hill must get a shout as well.

May 20, 2024 at 11:42 am #286000Surely the worst manager at SUFC would be Jimmy Dean because he managed the club two leagues below football league status and failed miserably with a decent squad

He certainly wasn’t the worst speller!

Fair point .. it did all go pear shaped for JD after the New Year for some reason ..

When I helped paint some bits of the ground I met Mr Bradley, he was very pleasant to chat too. Actually saw the new strip that ‘never was’, I think it was used in only 1 friendly and he wasn’t here much longer.
Cox and Rooks no argument. With JD Hilton knew exactly what he was capable of, why he accepted the job I will never understand. Keith Hill goes down as one of the biggest failures.
May 20, 2024 at 3:52 pm #286023Who was it on here who had persistently blown Hill’s trumpet?
May 20, 2024 at 5:18 pm #286030Mrs Hill, she doesn’t post anymore.
