January 13, 2025 at 11:14 pm #297132It’s all quiet on the Western (ok, NW of Lincolnshire) Front.
In reference to any new arrivals.
April 18, 2025 at 6:01 pm #302554Never to late, let’s go for the new manager bounce.
April 18, 2025 at 6:08 pm #302555Poor away performance based on caution and a sit in style for the first half then attack in the second.
Questionable team selections throughout the season, poor substitutions and Beck as a striker option.
Those 3 x home bore draws are now biting us in the arse.
April 18, 2025 at 6:16 pm #302556I predict that there’ll be a change at the top before next season and the first thing the new trigger happy man in charge will do is change the manager.
April 18, 2025 at 6:21 pm #302557Butler isn’t a bad manager for one new to the role but he was too stubborn with a clean sheet and 5-3-2 and that has cost us with those home draws. And he’s not been brave enough at the end of the season when making up for those early season draws. Not been quick enough out the blocks away from home.
Maybe next season!!April 18, 2025 at 7:02 pm #302571Never to late, let’s go for the new manager bounce.
Well I lost who was going to hoof this, thought it was Jimmy’s number one fan who has returned
April 18, 2025 at 7:10 pm #3025732 games to go, then the play offs.
You’d sack him even if we go up via the play offs?1 user thanked author for this post.
April 18, 2025 at 7:17 pm #302577Not like awaywego to offer knee jerk reactions without thinking it through.
April 18, 2025 at 7:35 pm #302580This thread was started on Oct 5th Deerey so hardly knee jerk.
Ya know 2-1 up against one of the bottom teams Oxford and he goes even more defensive then we let in that stupid equalizer.April 18, 2025 at 7:48 pm #302581You haven’t been saying Butler Out for ages so it doesn’t wash.
April 18, 2025 at 7:54 pm #302584You havnt been on for a while so refreshing
April 18, 2025 at 8:25 pm #302586We have in reality been so lucky this season to even be in with a sniff of promotion.
so many crap negative performances
too many draws
i believe players who dont give a rats arse about the club its just money ..this club is fooked .. many more years in NLN with bigger fish arriving in the pond.

April 18, 2025 at 8:32 pm #302588Butler should never have got the job in the first place. He’s done his best, but his lack of experience has cost us.
I thought we might get away with it as we had some momentum, but I think it will be really difficult now.
Does anybody really think he is the man to take us forward if we manage to get up?
April 18, 2025 at 8:41 pm #302590Your right deerey silly old me in all my posts I’ve being backing him all the way,
Ignore the threads Butler out 2.0 or Go and go now that I also started, thought my praise after the Radcliffe game showed how much I was fully behind him lol.April 18, 2025 at 10:06 pm #302611Does anybody really think he is the man to take us forward if we manage to get up?
No. Butlers always been too negative. Also don’t forget the huge slump in form earlier in the season was down to him being too pig headed and deciding not to change formation soon enough.
If we didn’t go through that slump due to that stupid 5 at the back crap, we more than likely would have already been promoted. The signing of Beck was terrible and then we have Butler signing a wide attacker in Carlton to be a main striker when he clearly wasn’t. Played pretty well of late, but no way is he a central striker.
Butler is a big no, no. Too many mistakes and far too negative. Lacks courage.
April 18, 2025 at 10:30 pm #302614The worrying thing was earlier in the season when he was unable to see what was abundantly obvious to a significant number of fans. His planning had been sussed and he convinced himself that it hadn’t. What’s more – he was right and that was that!
Happily, he finally backtracked and this alone saved our season.
Unhappily, the points subsequently lost by draws and indifferent match-play were never going to be fully covered by his more rational approach. This is why we have not already been promoted.
He has learned a great deal in this season – albeit pretty slowly.
He may well win the playoffs – if he does not – it is quite possibly because of flaws in certain players.
I might well be prepared to give the manager another chance – something I could not have agreed to with the previous boss.1 user thanked author for this post.
April 19, 2025 at 10:01 am #302647Where was the bravery shown by him yesterday, Whitehall fit and yet he did the normal thing of leaving sat on is arse.
What a boost to most of the fans that would have been, what’s the worst that could have happened could always have subbed him early.
Jimmy did the same last season biggest game of the season Tamworth at home, Whitehall available after his 3 match ban and he leaves him on the bench. What is it with managers they all tend to do it.

What manager starts a player after two months out through injury? He’d have been rightly battered had he done so.

April 19, 2025 at 1:13 pm #302690Stop making sense Harry.
April 19, 2025 at 1:31 pm #302695Seems very sensible now doesn’t it. especially if we’d got an early goal with a genuine forward on the pitch.
Butler’s done enough things for him to get battered this season and rightly so, 5 at the back, dodgy subs, interviews, Trying Evans as a midfielder twice, trying Whitehall as midfielder.
So one more which to me was the right anyway seen our struggle for goals of late especially away from home, so what if he got injured, again popular belief on here was we were managing quite well without him.April 19, 2025 at 2:39 pm #302701Depends if AB admits you don’t win anything by aiming for clean sheet as your measure of success. And decides that scoring more goals than your opponent is a better approach.
Might mean less draws, and more defeats but end up winning more. Look at the league table top 2.
If our 12 draws had gone 4 win 4 draws 4 losses would be on 88 points now
And who knows some of those defeats if we had been pushing for a win we might not have conceded by trying to playing our for a draw.
Attack attitude needed AB – risk a loss by going for a winApril 19, 2025 at 2:40 pm #302702Your mental gymnastics regarding starting Whitehall after such a lengthy injury are on fire today. Defies logic.

I wanted the Admiral. He was getting a decent tune out of a set of old busted up pipes.

Perhaps they understand the game better than you, just an opinion.
